ABC13 Houston News & Weather

We only have a TV in our living room, however, I like to watch the news while I get ready in the morning, so I use the ABC13 app on my phone or on my tablet. There are several format issues, but the main one is that the “watch live” banner is so small that even with my petite fingers I often hit the story below instead. Also, there isn’t enough space between the watch live feature and the story below when you want to make it full screen. The little full screen box is in the lower right corner and when I click it, it’s the same issue. Very frustrating. In general though, the over all “look” of the app is a little “low end” and “jumbled”. It’s not very sleek or easy on the eyes. It’s not easy to find the story you just got an alert for, which is very frustrating. I also wish they would switch up their story queue when you watch a story and then it goes into another one. They use the same story queue, so it’s the same ones over and over again when there is an entire feed of fresh stories to watch. Much to improve upon in this app.

The more intelligent people in this country recognize that these news media outlets are the ones that feed the fire and keep a lot of these problems going with the way that they report things. This channel pretends like it wants everyone to get along but the truth is the stories the reporting do not reflect that. It’s gas on the fire and they know it. That’s how they get ratings and views. If they really cared… They would stop. Look at what they did when Colin Powell passed away. I saw the report that came through on this channel and out of the same mouse that they honored him with… They also brought up all the controversy surrounding him and things he had been accused of. Can you just imagine a funeral or someone actually said something like that?? They would only say nice things… Not bring up all the wrong person had done. What kind of way is that to honor a person passing away? It’s news, it’s ratings, and that’s all these people give a crap about. There is no moral compass with this channel or any of the others. They don’t care how they make other people feel. They don’t care how they look to others, it’s pathetic. I cannot imagine if one of my parents passed away and someone stood up at the funeral and said some very nice things and then brought up all the terrible wrong things that they’ve done! That’s what this news media outlet reported. They pretend like they care that someone has passed away but yet smear them all over the place at the same time! It’s disgusting what people will do for a new story even at the expense of someone’s own death. Shame on you channel 13!!!

I’ve been reading the news on this app for a few years now, actually look forward to it every day but the past several months the app just freezes, can’t scroll, can’t do anything and then all of a sudden it just shuts down. I swipe everything away and reopen the app, scroll back to the article I was reading to continue on. A couple articles later, it happens again and this continues on and on. I’m frustrated as hell and I’ve uninstalled the app, reinstalled but it hasn’t made any difference at all. Someone needs to get this figured out, I’m getting closer every day to uninstalling the app for good! I use this app on my iPad and my cell and have this problem on both of my devices. Please fix this!
