Reels & Story Maker: Storybeat

I came across this app, downloaded it, and paid the monthly just to try. I love the font and the templates but the app doesn’t really have a lot of space for users to be creative on their own. There’s very limited colors to use for fonts if you were to do it yourself and not very much of customized settings to create your own post. I notice that the templates are pre made and the words are unchangeable so I felt like I have to just be okay with what’s already edited and find a picture that matches the template. It also doesn’t really have anywhere where they can teach you how to use the app (at least I couldn’t find it) so to have so much templates, can’t create on your own, it makes it very overwhelming to use as a first time user and frustrating. I wish this app had a free trial so I didn’t have to pay just to find out that I didn’t like it. Overall, it’s a cute I think some adjustments can help creators to be creative.

I really love the idea behind Storybeat. I mostly love the Reels templates. But a big problem is, there’s not much to use. You obviously need to have the exact amount of pictures or videos for the video to create. If you just try to put 5 videos in it but the template needs 6, it will give you an error “please try again” Besides that, the app is full of bugs. Most videos are either behind a paywall or you must be very lucky to find a video template which won’t give you the “please try again” error. Even if it says, you need 9 files or 5 or 23, and you give them the files, it’ll give me the error. With this Error the app is useless to me, if it doesn’t even work with the amount of files, (oh and it was free content, not pro) I totally understand that people want money for apps they create but this is not worth the money. I would maybe pay for lifetime but definitely not monthly or annual. So I’m going to delete the app and stick with other video editing apps. Sad.

This app is great, and I haven’t had any problems lately, but I am finding it a little hard trying to add music that I want, without the portion of the music being selected for me; such as picking a song, and having a 30 second snippet of the song. For instance maybe in the next update, fix it to where you can pick any part of the song, instead of trying to pick 15 seconds from the 30 second snippet of the song. If so, you would probably get a 5 star rating, in all great job❗️
