I had an unpleasant experience using Big Basket Instant. While purchasing a Rs. 20 chips packet, I was required to maintain a minimum wallet balance of Rs. 100. After topping up and completing the purchase, I tried buying another item, only to find the minimum balance had expired (Rs 80). To proceed, I had to add more money to the wallet, which “coincidentally”cannot be transferred if unused. Additionally, there are no items worth exactly Rs. 100 or close to it, forcing customers to spend more money unnecessarily. And why isn’t there a ADD TO CART ?? Had there been a CART, we could add more than 1 item and proceed to buy. This feels like a manipulative tactic to extract more money from users, especially since the wallet balance remains locked. It’s disappointing to see such practices from a platform owned by TATA, which is known for its ethical standards. Very Cheap and Disappointing.
It’s quite useful in a community. They recently got it installed in our building and it was quite easy experience to purchase from this vending machine like setup. Some essential snacks/food which is good enough for such arrangement. It still needs some work, it takes a couple of tries to connect but works well. Also one would need minimum balance in BB wallet yo purchase a product but you can also opt a third party payment system like your card or a pay later option which was certainly helpful instead of maintaining/recharging bb wallet.
The concept of using app to purchase items from a vending machine is pretty beneficial. A few recommendations- 1.) Remove the annoying message “You seem to be on a slow network” - Even on 100 mbps WIFI it shows up by default. It makes no sense. 2.) Connectivity to the bbInstant machine is lost at times and we aren’t sure why and what to do. There should be a notification of why and what needs to be done. 3.) Item prices in the machine are usually on the higher side. We need a larger variety of running items with discounted prices to make this system even popular across locations India wide. 4.) Performance of the app needs improvement.
