Annke Vision

UPDATE: I did not realize that I had to totally remove the app from my device, and re-install it in order to have the updated app version working for playback correctly. Once I did that, all worked GREAT as before. Revised stars back to a 5 star review. With the recent update to 4.27.1 it seems the playback stopped working from the app. I can only select the date, but the slider at the bottom is no longer working. Regardless of the time I select, it reverts to 00:00 for that date. Need a fix soon so I can use the app for playback. Using iPad with the latest iOS version, as well as iPhone with its latest iOS release.

The set up took 5 minutes at the most. It's working well just sitting next to me on my end table, alerting me to every movement as I am typing this . I want to leave it here and test out night vision. The picture in live view is crystal clear! I bought this to monitor my dog for seizures. I haven't installed a memory card yet, or mounted it in the location I want, but that's next. I'll update my review as I've had time to use it as it was intended, that's why I left it at 4 stars. P.S. this is NOT a fake review. UPDATE 3 days later...increased to 5 stars because this works great! Yes, when you open the app it logs you in again automatically, but it takes less than 2 seconds. Hardly anything to complain about. I wish I could post a photo, because the night vision works! It showed my dog getting up around 4am. The 2 way microphone works great too. My dog is a sound sleeper due to anti-seizure medicine she takes. She is also hard of hearing. I tested it out when I was away from home by calling her name through the mic, and it woke her up! It must be a good speaker. I was surprised she heard me. She turned and looked around, which I was able to watch via live view. This camera is perfect, especially for the price!FINAL REVIEW 1 * : this is my second Annke camera. The first part of the review was related to the first camera. It worked for about 2 weeks then couldn’t stay connected to WiFi. Had to keep deleting the camera and app and restarting. I sent a bad review and they sent a replacement camera. NOW the replacement camera (brand new) won’t connect AT ALL to WiFi ( on an iPhone or Moto4) despite multiple tries with an excellent WiFi service and no interference. This is still useless.

This app is terrible but even more worse is the camera. Although set up of the camera was easy and I am able to live view the camera at anytime, the push notifications and email notifications simply don't work. I can view the recordings on the Annke app under "messages" but I'm not getting notified THAT there's movement AS it's happening. I'm not getting any notifications and I have to keep blindly going into the app and random times to see if there are any "messages" recordings for me to view. I'm telling you, I'm doing EVERYTHING right and I'm not getting ANY notifications whatsoever and I'm a computer engineer! I can probably built Better camera than this. I inserted a Micro SD, I enabled notifications on my phone, I enabled notifications through both ANNKE Vision and ANNKE View apps, I set up all the customizations correctly through Internet Explorer on my computer. I set up motion detection alerts, email alerts, I made sure the firmware is up to date, which Annke customer service confirmed it is, I rebooted multiple times, I reset it more than 10 times, I've done EVERYTHING possible through my computer and everything possible in regards to troubleshooting! The .dav firmware they will send you when you're having problems is from October 2016, so they clearly don't update their products even though so many people complain that the notifications don't work. Such a waste of money. Good thing I got a refund. Never again. Everyone should buy Zmodo, they are so much better and their cameras actually work.
