Lorex Cirrus

I’ve had the LHB927 since July 2020. Love it! This app has always worked flawlessly for me. A lot easier to navigate when it comes to watching motion recordings. The new update is confusing at first (just b/c it’s completely different than the older version.) but it works great and I really like what they did. It’s better and easier to navigate once you play around on it for a few minutes. Bottom line the app works for me and fills my wants in a security system. It notifies me when motion is detected on the cameras I want it to and I’m able to see the recording instantly. ( Well as soon as I swipe the notification.) You are able to watch live feed as well. Just downloaded it! It’s pretty much your only option and you’ll be happy you did.

I am using a lorex wirefree system and even with the latest release of the Cirrus app on my iphone xr (as of Dec 20, 2021), I see an issue and quite a few important missing features. Issue 1: (Important) Pressing the record icon when viewing a video is supposed to capture a local copy of that video. However, I noticed that this wasn't properly happening. When I press record and play a 30 sec video capture and then stop, the expected resulting clip should be 30 secs. But that is not the case. Instead I get some arbitrary length like 55 secs of data and the starting point of that recorded clip does not match the source video clip. It would be so much easier and nicer to just select a clip or multiple clips and click save to local device or something. Missing feature 1: (important) Continuous recording - i remember seeing an older version of the app that had a continuous record option on the schedule page, but the latest one doesn't have this. One instance where I would like to enable continuously record certain cameras is when I go on vacation. Missing feature 2: (Important) custom length recording option during motion detection - currently my wirefree system is only limited to 30 seconds max record length. If motion is still happening after that time, the recording doesn't resume until an unspecified cooldown time. So imagine a burglary is in progress in sight of a particular camera; only the first 30 seconds of that would be recorded. Missing feature 3: (nice to have feature) Linking recording for multiple channels - I would like the option of triggering recording in multiple channels for a user defined time upon a motion detection on a user selected channel. For instance I would like to start recording on my side yard facing camera channel also when I detect a motion on my front yard facing camera

I’ve had my Lorex wired system (LHA4108) for over 2 years, and it has worked reliably. We live in a low crime area, with little activity, so I had little need for the app. However, with our increased level of home deliveries due to Covid, I started using the mobile app to see when a delivery was being made. SETUP: The App was able to connect quickly with my system, and I was up and running in under 5 minutes. ALERTS: Alerts arrive within ~5 seconds of the activity. When I drive up to our home, I consistently receive an alert before I park my car. I’ve been tracking this for over 6 months, and the alerts are very consistent and reliable. NO SPAM: I really like that I typically get 1 alert per event. My parents have an Arlo device and they sometimes have 10 alerts in 60 seconds. This never happens with Lorex. Why 4 and not 5 stars? The thing I find the most frustrating is the recording load time. The alert is timely, but then I wait about 15 seconds for the video recording to load. When I’m at home, I find it faster to walk over to the window.
