One of the things i liked in first game is that possibility to after deleting it from the device for whatever reason, but after deciding to reinstall it, you can pickup where you stopped, because it’s being iCloud synced. No progress loss. This one, even though the “iCloud sync” option is visibly checked and i can see it uses space on iCloud account just as fist version - just can’t. I tried few times. Somehow seems now it’s only works for switching devices while it’s installed on at least one i guess? 😒 Edited; fixed and improved generally. Great 👍🏻
I played Puzzle Quest back in the day, and I’ve been playing Gems of War for 6 years. But this? This is absolutely the best match-3 I’ve ever played. Everything about this game is amazing, from the RPG, to the matching game, to the art. I don’t know how good the story is going to be, as I’m not that far yet, but frankly I don’t care; you don’t come to a match-3 game for the story, but even still what’s presented so far is better than most attempts. I will probably look up the precursor title after I’m done with this one (but I hope it will take a while to finish). I sincerely hope that there will be a sequel to this. This is easily the best money I’ve ever spent on a phone game. I wish more developers would sell games instead of resorting to ads and micro-transactions, and it’s exciting that this game doesn’t have any of those issues. Pure offline goodness, so you can easily play on a plane. Kudos to the developers; I’m grateful for this gem!
Let me start off by saying I loved the first Hero Emblems game. Seeing the sequel finally release after so many years in development was an amazing surprise. And honestly, aside from the random encounter rate being somewhat obnoxious, the gameplay is perfectly serviceable. ...but it's honestly difficult to get through the cutscenes when the translation is marred by incorrect grammar, weird word choice, and bad writing in general. I'd be perfectly content unlocking traits, getting better gear, and running around the map finding secret chests if not for the godawful story that fails to live up to its (cliched) potential. One of the characters in particular grates on my nerves but that's a matter of personal preference. With the new skip button added, you can enjoy the match-3 strategy and ignore the plot.
