Forest Cabin: Survive

The core game itself is genuinely nice and a lot of fun to play. However, the ad structure is completely exhausting. You are forced to sit through 60 to 90-second ads just to claim basic rewards. Even worse, even after paying to remove ads, you still have to watch repetitive ads to get those rewards. It feels like a double-dip that disrespects both your time and your money. I wanted to love this, but I had to give up playing.

This is a really fun game. Just to be clear. It’s got lots of potential. The games take a long time to complete. There’s several waves. If you get interrupted while playing the game, maybe your six-year-old is asking you to help tie his shoes, or if you need to use another app for a moment, it will crash, even if you were having the game of your life. And then you start from Square one. It’s really frustrating. I wish that it would save and pick up where I left off when I get interrupted. This has happened so many times. Which means that I now restrict the times which I play to hours of the day that I anticipate not being interrupted. Like midnight.

I love this game, but the ads, who are basically mandatory if you want to advance, are way too long, boring and repetitive. A 90 second ad which repeats the same video 3 times has absolutely no sense, it makes you hate the advertised game, it makes you wish to delete the game you’re playing and for sure does not make anything remotely appealing. A 30 second ads is more than sufficient to show you the gameplay and to tease you into maybe trying that game. I’m putting a 1 star review on every advertised game with an ad longer than 30 seconds. Cut the ads length and I will give you 5 stars, because the game really is worth it
