Flatland: Idle City Empire

It’s very slow but good enough that it keeps you coming back, just desperately needs them levels that are spoken about in game

The game is very simple and can be easily picked up and put down at any time. It’s a simple idle wealth accumulator style game although it is quite a bit slower than many others and takes a while to build up any sort of wealth. It takes even longer if you get multiple issues related to the games frequent inability to continue building wealth whilst you’re away from the app. It likes to pick and choose when this feature works. Sometimes it will continue to build and other times I will return to the game to find that it just picks up where I left it, even if over 24 hours has passed. This is very annoying. Other than that, not bad to fiddle around with for a while to stave off the boredom.

Blocky looking but pretty enough, the game works like the mine tycoon types. Open a stream of revenue, wait and upgrade it or add another one. The problem with this one is that it’s quite slow. It’s 20 seconds at least between payments, and they don’t scale up quickly. They don’t get faster either. In the meantime there is nothing to do but watch the car slowly move across the screen. The houses and businesses don’t do anything and there’s nothing else but a flock of birds, no pedestrians or anything to interact with. As a first game you should feel proud of the achievement, most people would have no idea how to do this, but as a game at the moment it’s boring I’m afraid.
