I don’t write reviews often, but this app genuinely deserves one. From the moment I opened it, everything just clicked. The design is gorgeous — not cluttered or overwhelming like some other food apps — just a clean, beautifully laid-out experience that makes you actually enjoy the process of ordering food. Finding what I want takes seconds. The search is smart, the filters are easy to use, and the restaurant pages are well-organized with great photos that actually look like the real food. Customizing my order (extra sauce, no onions, you know the drill) is effortless — no confusing menus or buried options. Checkout is where it really shines. Saved addresses, saved payment, one tap and you’re done. It’s clear the design team actually thought about the user experience at every step rather than just throwing features at a screen. If you’ve been frustrated with clunky, ad-riddled food apps, this is the refresh you’ve been waiting for. Five stars without hesitation.
What in the actual frack? I seriously should have listened to the other reviews saying what a complete catastrophe this app is. For one, they there is zero confirmation that the order is taken. They do take your money with lightening efficiency though. After an hour I called and after a confused exchange they told me the food was “already delivered”. That can’t be good. I called BM (I get it now!) and the “agent” said they would talk to the restaurant. Unsurprisingly, she told me the delivery is “coming”. Of course nothing was delivered 90 minutes later. The broken English I heard she when calling the restaurant was even more broken so there was no hope of communication this time, but I did get “food gone”. So I’m out $53 bucks unless I can spend the countless hours on the phone convincing BM that no food was delivered because the restaurant is telling them it was, even when they tell me “food gone”. I can only use my imagination to think of what wormhole the food went into. The internet has ruined Food delivery. Long before any of this nonsense, Big Lantern of SF would deliver in 45 minutes reliably. Now we have this nightmare. It’s like a simulation of living like a impoverished child for an evening because you really have no idea if you will go to bed hungry or not. I now have that much more empathy for such children and will be giving more money regularly to our local food bank, so I guess something good came from all of this BS. Bless the children. They are our future after all.
I saw all previous reviews that were bad and was hoping things changed as the most recent ones was fairly good. Ordered placed the app to local restaurant and received an order confirmation and they charged my American Express card immediately. Half hour later we go to the restaurant to pick up our order they don’t have anything for us because they never got the order and that was because the restaurant hasn’t been signed up with beyond menu for at least 3 years now. We placed an order anyway with our local restaurant and paid for a new order on a separate credit card. I immediately called BeyondMenu it’s 8 PM California time on Friday night and I get a woman that answers the phone, which kind of sounded like I was calling a customer service rep at their home (?) so I proceed and explain the situation, gave her the order number she said she’ll cancel the order and that I’ll get an email confirmation but I should see the credit back to my credit card in 3 to 5 days depending on my credit card company. Got a love these places who charge your card right away but take a week to give you the money back. I put this on my American Express and if it’s not taken off I will immediately dispute it with them they are the best company to deal these types of situations, I will get my money back but for the time being I’m out $40.
