I couldn’t decide if I should give 3 or 4 stars. Here’s what I like: the tracking feature. You are given a set number of workouts to complete in a week (I have mine set to four because I like to run/walk in addition to using this app). The set number of workouts to check off my list keeps me motivated. I like the pelvic floor exercises because otherwise I’d never do them. There are also other features like audio workouts (I suppose people use these at the gym as opposed to watching along with the video) and you can always search and do more than your recommended weekly workouts. What I don’t like: the workouts can be very repetitive within a set. For example it’ll have you doing donkey kicks all workout long it feels like. They could spice it up a bit and work the same area in a different way. I also don’t like that the advanced option isn’t very advanced. I’m a pretty fit person and really enjoy working out and I give it my all every time so I expect an advanced workout to make me sweat and tire me out. Oftentimes, I feel like I could keep going for wayyy past the end of the workouts.
I was not exercising daily before pregnancy but decided I wanted to stay healthy during those 9 months. With the fatigue, hormones, strong calls for strange foods at strange times and your body changing things can become a bit overwhelming. This app helped me stay in control and balanced during my whole pregnancy. What I love about it: - daily little story which is the 1st thing I look at in the morning and it helps me keep track of where I am in my pregnancy (most apps do a weekly update only) - great fitness exercices: not too hard, good rest moments at the right time so I don’t give up, great warm up and stretch included in all work outs, evolves weekly with your stage in pregnancy, we’ll explained, synchs to music apps - variety of work outs: I never got bored and could adapt to what I was in the mood for that day, different length so can also adapt to my schedule, easy to combine a few together if you want longer workouts but very short ones so no excuse to not do any - pelting floor exercices are fun and quick to do so I can just remember to do that when I’m bored - breathing exercices, didn’t do it much but helped when I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t go back to sleep I really think this app helped me feel great, full of energy and in a great mood during my pregnancy. Plus my body feels strong and it has helped me with weight gain (week 25 and have only put on 5 pounds despite the fact I’m clearly eating more than before 😄😄)! Will continue even after birth I think
I so wanted to love this app. I think the concept is great. I love that there are selections for kegel and breathing exercises. But I was most excited about the prenatal workouts, hoping I could add more variety to my routine. But they fell completely flat. And I can do kegels and breath work on my own. Here’s my take on the workouts. I’ve been a yoga teacher for 8 years, and am certified in prenatal. Some of the exercises aren’t actually prenatal friendly for women in their 2nd and 3 trimesters, which is my first complaint. Secondly, whether you’re doing full body, upper body or lower body, there is very little variety in the workouts. Not only are the workouts pretty boring, but the number of times you repeat exercises is inconsistent. For example, in the upper body workout, you repeat most of the exercises twice, but one of them you repeat 3 times. This happens on multiple occasions, so I’m thinking maybe that is a glitch. Third, the workouts are just unorganized. The order of exercises in the warm up doesn’t make much sense (plus the warm up is the same for every workout, and is pretty boring). The upper body workout has an odd amount of glute work, which should clearly be in the lower body workout (and the specific exercises done shouldn’t even be done by women in their 2nd and 3rd trimesters). I won’t be continuing to use this app, and am disappointed in myself for committing to the $7/month for 3 months option, as it was a complete waste of my money.
