Austin News from KVUE

I’m grateful that I get updates about current events in Austin. Thank you. I don’t watch the news because it’s repetitive, full of commercials and bloated weather segments. I get my daily weather in 30 seconds on my phone and don’t waste my time. I’m giving 3 stars because of the app. If I get breaking news and go to investigate, I’m met immediately with commercials. If I want to resize or hit pause there are more commercials. Nope, not going to wait. The interface could be clear and streamlined, but it’s not. Give me a chance to scroll to big sections of interest - local news, local events, crime, politics and voting. That type of thing. I’d also appreciate the chance to go by date as well so I can see yesterday’s events. Thanks again for the news. Please evolve the app.

I love KVUE news, the TV, apps and any other way to watch this news channel. I’m a dedicated 20+ years viewer, as a emergency responder, KVUE is always there to give city employees a chance to explain why things may have problems. The other news outlets in Austin are extremely quick to blame police fire and EMS if were trying to work through a issue. I’m FRUSTRATED with the constant ads and pop ups, I know you have to get funds in the door, do you have a paid version of KVUE news? It’s gotten to many interruptions. I can’t give you a 1 star because I truly feel you guys give a fair and balanced view of the news. I can always watch and know there will be at least 1 positive story. But 2 stars is it, I’m now starting to look for other ways to get local news from some other outlet on my phone, with less ads and shorter commercials (for the web) sorry guys, I’ll stick around to see if anyone replies or can tell me where to go for a add free version.

You can’t do anything anymore on this new app without watching an ad. KVUE was my favorite source of local news until the app changed. I’m going to have to switch to KXAN. Their app is still the old format where it was easier to get to everything. With this new app, the “Watch” at the bottom of the app is not intuitive. Then half the time when you click on it, it crashes. And then when it does happen to work, don’t click on anything because you’ll get an ad. As a software developer myself I am appalled at how little planning went into the layout of this app. :-(
