I was paying $80+ a month for Fubo so saving $60 a month for Altitude + I was prepared to overlook a lot of flaws and that’s exactly what I had to do. Turns out Altitude is just as overpriced as Fubo if all you care about is watching Avs games. Altitude + refreshes on the half hour, every half our so you lose connection for a minute, but it does reconnect. You’d think they would be resolved at some point but they still can’t figure it out. No full screen on Apple TV, again, OK at first, but never fixed. Those 2 things can be overlooked, but they do get very annoying after 2 months. But what finally made me cancel was the connection completely being lost and not being able to watch the games. Sometimes it’s during the game, sometimes it’s before the game and I can’t get in on the iPhone app or Apple TV- it just shows a lock icon. Sometimes you can reset your devices and that works, sometimes it does not. In 2024 you shouldn’t have to fiddle with an app to do the only thing it was created for. I had very low expectations since the last app they put out for streaming was so garbage, and yet again they manage to limbo under an extremely low bar. I’ll gladly pay $20 if they can get it together but i can’t just give them a $20 donation each month for a totally undercooked app.
I was so excited to have this as an option…it was much cheaper than fubo and I didn’t think the $20/month was that bad even though a lot of people were complaining. I primarily use the Apple TV app but I have all the same issues on the phone. The interface is so terrible, just to try and get to show full screen takes multiple attempts and always pauses the game. Every time it hits the 30 (7:30pm) or hour mark (8:00pm) the video pauses and most of the time I have to close out the app completely and start new. I have already missed multiple endings to games because of this making it so frustrating. I’m close to just paying more for fubo again just so I can actually watch a full game without all the nonsense the app comes with. Very frustrating. Can’t record or playback anything you’re already watching. Please get someone who knows how to create a video app properly without so many bugs.
I was so excited Altitude came out with a streaming app. I love FuboTV as well, but with all the streaming services I already pay for, it was a lot of money every month just for avs and nuggets games. The Apple TV app is really buggy which is the only reason for the 5 star review as I watch 95% of the content from my TV. Occasionally the app crashes, maybe once every sporting event. More often than that, the channel refreshes every 10 minutes roughly and I have to return it to full screen so there isn’t a border. Finally, the most annoying and ever present issue is the screen overlay. Altitude Sports and the time bar can be seen at all times at about a 10% opacity instead of disappearing completely after 5-10 seconds of inactivity. As someone trying to watch the games, it’s really distracting having something over the screen faintly at all times. Bugs found shortly after release are common and I’m sure they’ll get squashed. I’ll update the review to a 5 star when that happens. As of right now, I’m happy to have the option to pay $20 instead of $100 each month to watch my teams.
