Yoga International

As a yoga instructor and yoga student I enjoy the content of YI for several years now. I found teachers, courses and other content I enjoy, use in my classes and personal practice. Sadly the usability of the app is left much to be desired. I view it on my iPad most of the time. The size of videos doesn’t fit to the screen when I open them (I have to switch to another app, then back, and by chance the app would show video full screen). I can’t open videos from my saved list and have to type in the name of the class in a search to get an access to smth I already saved. The web version and mobile app version do not really sync (I had issues while viewing my purchased courses). Sometimes a teacher’s intro video plays over a class video (!!), because it just has an autoplay… There are many more annoying issues. They need a good QA team on board to check on all that bugs, both mobile app and web. I don’t want to level up on my subscription because all these bugs.

I have been using this app for years both on my iPod and my computer. It is true that favorites don’t transfer between devices. However if you save favorites on each device they will remain saved. Sometimes the favorites screen freezes, but if you tap on a class and go back to the screen it will scroll again. Sometimes the whole app just won’t load, like today, and when that happens I delete the app and reload it. So remember the email and password you used when you signed up. It actually doesn’t take that long. There’s so much amazing content in this app that all of this is worth it. There are many knowledgeable teachers there are good courses and there are classes of all lengths of time and a wide range of abilities. What I love most about this app and this site is that it is so completely inclusive and has classes for anyone of any age any size and any ability. Other yoga sites and yoga apps portray the yogi In an unrealistic manner and reinforce negative and damaging content and images. It is also important to note that this site/app is not just about Asana. Which if you know anything about yoga, asana is only one limb of eight. There is meditation, pranayama and philosophy offered throughout the site and many of the teachers obviously have a rich background in the other 7 limbs of ashtanga yoga as taught by patanjali thousands of years ago.

Am on this wonderful journey of an holistic lifestyle and while am fortunate to live very near a yoga retreat, attending the retreat for the most part, is not always a possible . For a while I looked at Yoga International ads on Facebook and scrolled on but not without noting the ads contents. I was so intrigued by the variety of courses offered, I started the free trial and before the trial period ended I started membership. It is the best decision I have made on my holistic journey. Can I say OMG.... the contents of the site for the membership price can’t be beat. The information, choices of courses and challenges offered are amazing .....and the best part they continue to add new courses and challenges which are informatively narrated. I can go on and on..... just join you won’t regret. It will be one of the best gifts you give yourself. I am most definitely glad I did.
