WSOC-TV Channel 9 Weather App

Born and raised in the Charlotte metro area. WSOC-TV Weather is the FIRST to have a local Doppler radar. National Weather Service has Charlotte in a radar black hole because of the lay of the land from the foothills through the Piedmont. WSOC-TV has been my GO TO weather and news source since the late 1970’s. I trust them that much. I survived Hurricane Hugo thanks to them even though they lost their television transmission tower

I am 51 years old and I have been watching channel 9 news and weather since I was a young boy having to change the channels on grandma and grandpa’s TV by hand, turned the knob😂 I drive a truck and haul logs all day long so I am outdoors all day and I’ll follow yawls forecast and radar all day long! Keep up the great work I will try to get some videos or photos when I’m out in the weather! God bless all!

I really enjoy WSOC-TV News and Weather. I feel the news coverage is honest and non-sensationalized. I don't care for the "first seen" on WSOC-TV. I am more concerned the facts are correct, not being the first to broadcast an event. I like all the members of the news team: anchors, weather, sports, community assistants, reporters in various locations, etc. As a journalism minor in college, I have been appalled by the poor job being done on various stations. You should be proud of your station!
