Tiny Bird Garden

I love birds enough that I keep this game anyway, but in general there’s... just... not enough to do, even as far as simulation games go. You buy a few trinkets, decorate the garden, fill the bird feeder, and you just... wait. And when birds do show up you only get one line of interactivity and then they just... sit there and do nothing! They don’t even seem to interact with other birds! Even more insultingly enough I realized when I’ve done the 3 things you can interact with and close out the program, then come back to it a few hours later, you get all sorts of letters and notifications telling you all the birds you missed while you were gone! As if the game punishes you for not giving it full attention for hours on end, when all the gameplay that’s available in one sitting is just 5 minutes max. Am I missing something here? Because all I see is a cute art style (and well designed birds). I don’t know anything about this developer, but from a technical standpoint I feel like they’ve -barely- made a game here, and I don’t particularly feel strongly about shelling out money for something you don’t do anything with. This is just eye candy with no substance, just like 80% of all other mobile games, and that disappoints me because I also saw this game for sale on Steam, so I THOUGHT there was more to it.

I downloaded this because it was mentioned on Alex The Honking Birds page & was expecting another nightmarish money game & instead was treated to a very casual(& often times cute game)with birds. You can easily purchase most all you need without spending too much as you can easily play it and earn shiny feathers(cash currency) at a decent pace to not stress yourself out so in my opinion it strikes a nice and unobtrusive balance. You can purchase shiny feathers, but I’ve found that they are priced so low that if you do decide to buy them they aren’t gonna break your bank or force you to need them(I bought some just to throw a bit of money the developers way because as I said they’ve got a great balance already). Each of the 88 birds in the game are friendly and have their own personalities which make coming back seem fun as they always have some uplifting dialogue for this feel good game. I’m not sure if Alex is in this because I haven’t seen him yet, but I hope he is. It goes without saying that this game should be a must try game that will have you coming back more just to see the birds sitting about in your own garden.

I need to say that this game is honestly amazing! When I first got it I thought it was only going to be a Neko Atsume clone but now having it for a few days I realized there’s more to it that makes it fun and unique. This app makes me feel more love towards each bird because of how each have their own personality and their descriptions aren’t just there as a silly little thing but it actually shows what kinds of treats they’ll like more and what they’ll say when they’re in your garden. But honestly there aren’t as many birds as I thought there would be to find in my garden, but it makes it easier to know each of them so I don’t mind that much. I also love the people on the menus because it makes the app feel more like having a zoo or something rather than just a game and it helps me navigate so when I need help with something I remember which character helps with the thing I need and I can go to them. I love this game a lot and I definitely recommend it if you love animals or friends or birds or whatever. So glad I found this!
