Best Adventure Game Since Monkey Island!!

When I was a child I played every adventure game I could get my hands on as I tried to recapture the magic I felt when I first played Monkey Island. While I’ve enjoyed many, none have lived up to that experience. I started to believe it was just a nostalgic reverence that made the experience more special than it really was. Now, at age 38, just occasionally playing escape the room games on my iPhone, I stumbled on “The Journey Down” and WOW! It has all the magic you could possibly desire in a point-and-click adventure game. And it hurts me, but I’m gonna day it.....I... I.... I think it’s better than Monkey Island!! I’m so depressed that I finished the game now. I’ll probably wait a year and replay it again!

Thank you skygoblin for a quality gaming experience

It's quite easy to tell this finale and the preceding episodes where truly a labor of love. The art, music and detail in this series are excellent. I started playing this series when the original was released and have to wait the years between the following chapters; while it was frustrating it was worth the wait for a quality product. If I have any complaints at all it would be the final chapter may have been a little too easy but that also just might be me wanting it to last longer. Overall it's about +~-8 hours of gameplay so for the price you get your money's worth and a whole lot more. I can not recommend this series enough if you enjoy adventure type games, story telling, immersive art and music or just high quality work in general. Thanks again to those involved and hopefully there will be more in the future.

Well worth it

Having played chapters 1 and 2, this IS a fitting finale. This was a longer game than the second installment and therefore the price is justified by the content/story line, art and music. I played it in one day in various sittings; took about 8 hours. Only a few tough spots, but got through by rechecking scenes that had new options after I had accomplished certain objectives. I would suggest that you DO play all three chapters in order to make the story line coherent, but you could just pick up this game and play as is. But don't cheat yourself, play all 3 in order! I am glad SkyGoblin stuck around for the 10 years to complete the story arc.
