Spillt: Recipe & Meal Plan App

I cannot say enough about this app! My DIL and I have been looking for a way to share recipes that does not require a subscription or a fee. Here it is! You can save recipes from the internet and no longer have to login to multiple sites to save recipes on sites where you find them (and then often forget about them). You can sort your recipes into categories. When I tried saving a family recipe from a recipe card I thought maybe others would see the picture of the card, but I was blown away! The AI sorted out an ingredient list and instructions regardless of the format on the recipe card and the handwriting! It is not 100% perfect, and says so. Double check all ingredients, measurements, and instructions and make edits as needed, but it is amazingly accurate. I do not have to type up all my family recipes to share them. I just snap pictures. I also love the grocery list feature. I can open the ingredients for any recipe, uncheck the boxes next to the ones I have, and click one button to add the rest to my grocery list. I just discovered this morning that I can organize my list by recipe, which is huge!!! I do that on my hand-written grocery lists, so if I decide not to make something after I make my list or get to the store I can skip those ingredients. This is the app we have been looking for and I highly recommend it. I have been sharing it with family and friends. Anyone who likes to cook, bake, collect, or share recipes will not be disappointed. I did contact them to ask about an iPad version in order to have a larger screen when cooking and they replied promptly and said they are working on one. Also, the screen does not go to sleep while a recipe is open. I am eager for the iPad version! Thank you!

This app completely streamlines the recipe saving experience. Spillt makes it incredibly quick and easy to store recipes in one place that I actually do it rather than adding yet another bookmark or screenshot to my “recipe book”. My favorite feature is the ability to rate and add comments to the recipes you save. Now I don’t have to remember that I had to add 5 minutes to the cook time, or that I added more cinnamon to dish. ALSO, your screen stays lit the entire time you are viewing a recipe so you don’t have to constantly tap your screen while your hands are covered in the cookie dough you are making. There are tons of other thoughtful features such as the ability to quickly see and save the ingredient list for a recipe and the “feed” to see what your friends are cooking. Just trust me - this is the solution to all of your recipe saving problems!!

I love this app! It’s so great to have one place to save all the recipes you find online. I used to have them all over the place (in safari bookmarks, Pinterest, notes, you name it), but with Spillt I can easily find and categorize everything in one place. I always have a hard tim deciding what to cook but this app has made it much easier to get over the “what do I want to eat” barrier because I can see recipes my friends have made or saved and use that as inspiration! The “search for ingredient” function is also STELLAR!! No more wondering “what can I make with 2 peppers and a pack of saffron”. I can’t wait to start cooking more and trying all the recipes I’ve saved!
