Speech to Text : Voice to Text

The app does a pretty good job expect 3 issues that I have noticed so far 1. It can’t keep up with the person speaking, skips words 2. It tries to correct the sentence which causes an issue particularly when someone says a sentence and try to explain a different way. In other words it tries to correct what it assume may be right thing to say 3. While transcribing from speech to text, half of the text is at the bottom, half is on top, and in the middle of it, it stops showing what it’s transcribing , eventually once you stop, everything show up

I am just surprised that there are practically no mistakes, and those that are, appear more likely through my fault, because I don’t know how to pronounce some foreign words or names when there is such a need. In any case, it’s faster to record your speech and correct minor mistakes than type. I think this is just a great app for those who don’t have time to type or just too lazy to do it.

The speech recognition is good if I’m speaking into the mic with my natural voice. However, it does not work at all with recordings or conversations over speaker phone. I have weekly teleconference meetings where I’m responsible for taking notes. These meets are important so I record them so that I don’t miss any key information. I was hoping I could play the recording and this app would work but it doesn’t. It just clocks. I also called my phone, put it on speaker and tried recording live but it would not recognize my voice through the speaker phone. So for my purposes this app is useless. I gave three stars because the speech recognition is great with a natural/live voice. It even omitted my “ums”. It gives you 60 minutes of recording time for each file. You can save a file to your files or email it. I haven’t tested with multiple voices but think it would be great for lectures. Sadly my search continues for an app that can translate recorded conversations to text.
