This is such a blessing to not only parents, and their loved ones, but for all of us! who can’t be there with Carter. This is the second time I’ve been blessed to be able to send love! prayers! and support! to one of my newest!”Hero’s!” Carter Harbon. My first journey I was able to follow with the blessing of, “Caring Bridge!” was another family of “Forever Friends!” and their “Miracle!” son to this day, who’s story, and his “Heart!” blessed with by another families love, and unimaginable loss! , Jett Skaggs. If it had not been for the updates, pics! and his strong family’s faith every step of the way, we could not have imagined! how we could have gotten though all that precious family went through. I pray if any family is walking a health journey that has turned their lives upside down! they will be led to this amazing! “ Heart Connection!” that has been created. I pray each one! will be blessed! to use it to bring the comfort, and updates even in the midst of each families storms! I thank God! even more tonight, as we are blessed! to follow! our previous! faithful! “Harborn family,” and especially our newest, “ Hero!” with, Carters journey. Thank you all who help families stay connected all over the world. Sincerely, Shelia Stephen’s! Thank you also for your help in editing my profile! 🙏🏻✝️🫶🏼💪🦸🏻♂️🕊️
This is such a great site to collect and keep track of a personal health diagnosis and journey!! I love that you can journal at any time, AND choose who you want to see it whether it be one specific person or a whole group of family and friends!! I have been journaling my thoughts and feelings as I am starting a new diagnosis of cancer. And if I don’t want to write a lot, there are journal prompts to fill in. It’s a nice way to keep all your loved ones up-to-date on latest developments plus your thoughts. There is also the option of having up to 2 other friends/family members co-author the site with you which means that if there are times that I cannot journal (ie surgery), those co-authors can post journal entries and updates for me so that my loved ones can get the latest information and updates!! So convenient!!! Those that receive my journal entries are able to offer me words of support through my journal entries. And if they want to help me, but don’t know what to do or what I would need, there is a section where i can indicate what types of things I would like help with (ie rides, grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, housekeeping, prayers, meals, etc)!! It makes it very convenient for my loved ones, and allows them to choose what they are comfortable doing!! CaringBridge has made everything so easy to navigate and there are so many resources on the site that cover anything you might not have even thought of - like articles about how to support those with the illness, success stories of others, places to keep track of all your medical information, appointments, results etc…- basically anything you could possibly need to keep track of EVERYTHING!!!! Very well laid-out site!!
Overall the mission and purpose of the app and site is wonderful. Reduces additional stress on individuals and family while being able to provide a one-stop shop with personalized flair. I personally have been a user from both perspectives; personal medical journey and family/friend support of loved ones. The app is great with no significant hiccups when simply viewing and/or following individual accounts. I have struggled using the app from an author standpoint and not certain whether the difficulty comes from fewer mobile capabilities but never seem to have issues when using a desktop/laptop. I personally compose my journal entries outside of the app/site so til ready to post the newest update. Occasionally when attempting to copy and paste the spacing format goes wonky requiring manual deletion of additional spaces or lines. The app can be slow to respond or does not respond at all when attempting to edit or delete a draft. At this point, it has been easier to add journal entries and pictures from the full website than wonder who odd looking it will appear once submitted. Then addition time is required to fix the overall appearance of automatic paragraph indentation, large space between paragraphs and picture orientation. Perhaps there is a learning curve to adjust or eliminate this additional work but I personally have not found the easy button yet. Overall, a wonderful app that provides so much more for individuals experiencing a difficult situation and allows one location for the most recent and correct information.
