When someone showed me this game, I was almost instantly hooked! It scratched my itch of collecting things and combined it with my love of aviation. For the first 2 weeks, I was glued to it! When the update was announced, I was so excited for new missions and features. But after seeing it, I’m afraid the developers are flying this plane into a mountain. Instead of rewarding you for taking a perfectly framed and cloudless picture (which is already difficult enough when you’re flying through endless clouds), you are instead penalized for NOT getting a perfect shot by losing XP. And while you used to be able to get at least one coin for either perfect framing OR a cloudless photo, now you get 2 coins for both or nothing at all. The only reason I can imagine this is happening is to incentivize people to buy coin packages and spend them on perks like camera stabilizers and blue skies. But this is going to really alienate those users, like myself, who want to just enjoy the game. I may still play off and on, but I will not be as fervent as I was before. I hope that the dev’s change their direction before the wings fall off altogether and this flight crashes into the ocean, disappearing like Malaysia Airlines flight 370. Please do better guys.

I found out about this game about two weeks ago and I’ve been obsessed. I joined the discord and was tracking rare planes and collecting as many new planes as I could. I was really proud of catching 25/76 of a specific Embraer passenger plane. Just the other day I had a Goodyear blimp pop up in my area! All of that joy is gone now. This update has quite explicitly punished its user base in limiting coin collection, docking xp, negating new plane collecting by labeling every plane as new, increasing cost of travel, making daily missions almost impossible for new or casual players, cash grabbing in the form of more expensive items that last a very short time, and battlers have to pay to refuel their cards, to name a few things. They don’t seem to understand that most of us just wanna catch planes like Pokémon. There are ways to structure the battles so it is fair to all kinds of players but what the devs have done has alienated a large portion of the people who play this game. It’s not all bad and I have hope that this can be saved which is why I’m giving two stars. The new ui is a little clunkier and changing the airport logo was needless. I enjoy the new graphic of the aircraft flying in the airpedia. I appreciate adding more levels to card leveling and the idea behind some of these items aren’t bad. But 5 minutes of blue sky? When every other aspect of this game extends in 30 minute increments? Getting penalized and earning no coins for 100% framing and 1% clouds? Unacceptable. I’ll be back when the devs listen to the feedback they’re getting.

I’m a relatively new user within the last month or so and I was having a really fun time collecting cards for the achievements and hoping to finish them. I got really close too! I hadn’t joined in the discord until this week and so didn’t really see any of the plans for an update. Wondered what number of rare cards I was at for the achievement and when I opened the game today everything was completely new and the old achievements were locked meaning I could no longer collect for them and they were never finished and all that work I put in to it was for nothing. Now you have to re-catch everything for the new season and it’s really disappointing to me. Because why did I put in any effort at all? I didn’t know everything was going to reset. Not to mention near perfect catches you don’t even get one coin anymore. You used to get one coin for 100% framing and one coin for 0% clouds. So even if you missed and had 99% frame but 0% cloud you got one coin. But now even if you have no clouds and 99% framing you get zero coins and MINUS experience points. Makes it way harder to collect coins at all. Heavily makes you rely on the items that don’t drop very often for camera stabilization or no clouds item just to get perfect catches if you’re really not good at timing. That or micro transactions to just buy coins which wouldn’t surprise me if that’s what they want to drive people to. I spent coins on the unlimited photos for a half hour to try and re-catch cards now and couldn’t even make back the 75 coins needed to purchase that option. When it was absolutely more doable before. Sure yes they added some cool things into the game but the things I mentioned were really unsatisfactory to me as a new user. Really disappointing to feel like everything I did over the last month was for nothing.
