POV – Disposable Camera Events

We were a budget friendly wedding and my cousin did our photography for us as a gift. I didn’t want him to spend the whole time working and I wanted him to enjoy it. I always loved the retro looking photos from the disposable cameras from when I used them when I was younger. I also wanted to avoid getting a million messages after the wedding from family members asking about photos. This was super cool and they came out as great as I expected them to. It gave everyone a chance to be involved and submit their own photos. The cool part too is you can delete duplicates or accidental submissions before you buy the album. I love this and the fact that my guests had till the next day to submit them is super awesome bc let’s all admit after getting sloshed no one is gunna remember or even be coordinated enough to use their phones lol I was able to send the album out to all my guests as soon as it was ready. It was awesome HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE APP. It was absolutely worth using.

I absolutely love this app and try and introduce it to as many friends as possible. I enjoy using it for day activities with friends to capture the moments as the day unfolds. We found it leads to much more impactful photos and interesting photos as people are not just rapid fire taking 30 photos of everything that happens. It also led to discussion around photos as the day progressed. Highly recommend! My only suggestion is to allow the organizer to toggle on the ability for other people to export the photos themselves. After an event concludes the organizer has an export all function but other participants had to download photos 1 by 1.

During one sleepless night in the week leading up to my wedding I was served an ad for this app on Instagram and it piqued my interest. After reading some reviews and seeing the pricing, which was really reasonable, we decided to give it a try. We opted to just go with the “up to 25 users” option since it was such short notice and didn’t have time to print up QR codes, plus we weren’t sure how many people would really use it. I distributed the link to 25 friends/guests who I thought would be most likely to use it, allowing the max of 25 photos per user. It was an added plus that using the camera didn’t require downloading the app. For $4.99 I would have been pleased if we got 5 or 10 good pictures, lo and behold we ended up with over 200 and everyone we sent the link to not only used it but really liked it! It made for such fun, candid shots on the dance floor and truly lived up to the app’s name by showing us the wedding from our guests’ POVs. It was a fun little add on, and having it all be digital on everyone’s phones was so much easier and cost effective than using real disposable cameras where you’re not sure if anyone will use them correctly (or use them at all) plus avoided the extra cost of developing film. The photo filter was cool but not overpowering and looked realistic to an actual disposable camera. The gallery was easy to access and perfect for letting everyone view and save whatever photos they wanted quickly and easily. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this app, especially if you’re like us and not having a photo booth. I preferred this so much more, it was much more personal and simple - not to mention much less expensive - and still gave our guests and ourselves an instant, unique memory of the night.
