I do like the simplicity of the app however, if I could have the controls from Thrive I would give you more stars. I am not able to automate a switch to car mode when going over 10 miles per hour. (I have tried to customize but that option is still not available). It will however switch out of car mode when you get to a specific location. My other gripe is that having to have large font, the main screen of the app doesn’t have a dynamic feature that moves to allow you to see everything on the page. So it’s kinda hard to get to the 3 dots on the right or the AI button on the top. And, lastly the tele-hear update from professional instructions (on how to install the update) when sent without connecting virtually should be easier to find! I hope this helps all.
I use the “Loop” program frequently. When using this program the single volume control changes the hearing aid microphone volume and the loop volume simultaneously. Currently, if I raise the loop volume the hearing aid microphones are raised as well, which raises the ambient sounds all around me, which is counter productive to getting the clearest possible assistive listening experience. A separate volume control is required for the hearing aid microphone volume independent of the loop volume. I have worn hearing aids for 15 years and my previous brand of hearing aids I owned had 2 separate volume controls for the loop program. MyStarkey app has a separate volume control for the hearing aid microphones independent from the “Streaming” volume. Please add a separate volume control for the hearing aid microphones when in the loop program. I love the Omega AI 24s hearing aids!! ———————————————————— Customer response to Starkey Laboratories response: I have worked frequently with my audiologist, who has been making the request to Starkey to add a separate volume control slider for the hearing aid microphones when the hearing aids are in the “Loop” program. Currently, when in the “Loop” program there is only 1 volume slider in the app. This one volume slider changes both the loop volume and hearing aid microphone volume in tandem. There is no independent control of the two sound sources in the app and cannot be programmed by the audiologist. The feature I am requesting and have used in my previous brand of hearing aids for 7 years, does not exist in the Omega AI 24. This feature must be added by Starkey because the audiologist cannot make an adjustment to a feature that does not exist.
Since last update Bluetooth and MFI glitching. When streaming and a call comes through connection drops. Can’t turn aids on and off to reset. Have to do a hard reset by putting them in the charger. Sometimes connection drops during a call and iPhone goes to speaker. Will not reconnect unless placed on charger. This is a real pain to deal with. I called Starkey tech support and they claim it is an iPhone issue. I deleted the app and problems went away. Something in the app is wrong. Apple tech support thinks app needs to be updated to match changes to Apple IOS. I depended heavily on Bluetooth and MFI. Very frustrated. Since I posted. Starkey updated its app. Things are working good now. Connectivity is much better. Zoom and Microsoft Teams work good. Always had issues before. I appreciate the fast response from Starkey. With hearing loss in the profound range and I am a heavy power user I can’t do without hearing aids. My job requires a lot of online meetings and a lot of phone use. Can’t do without my hearing aids. You will be happy with Omega AI. Can’t wait to learn more about auracast and find ways to use it.
