Best in town

I’ve shopped at Morrisons in Dukinfield since it opened. Fresh food is what it says Fresh and with a reasonable use by date. I just love how everything is under the same roof. No running around several shops to get what you need. The staff are fantastic and will always go out of their way to help you. I was once needing a pumpkin for a recipe and couldn’t find one. I asked a member of staff who informed me that they were out of season but she went to the trouble of finding an alternative ie butter nut squash on her phone. You won’t find that sort of help anywhere else. Well done Morrison’s I hope you’ll be there for many more years.

Why force customers to continually check the App?

The offers are few and far between but Morrisons want you continually check their App by forcing you look for them then activate them. If not, you miss out. ASDA automatically activates these offers for their customers but Morrisons refuse to. Why compel regular and loyal customers to do this? I’ve missed out a few times. I spend a lot in Morrisons and shop regularly. Today I popped in for a few things and because I have neither the time nor inclination to obsess over their App, I didn’t spot the “spend £40, get 4000 points” offer. Seen it said that you can take a receipt back and ask for it to be added but that’s not helpful if you don’t take receipts and in any case there’s zero chance I’d be returning to any store to beg for my offer to be activated on account of my failure to obsess over their App. I’m sick of looking at the App. I suppose it helps the profits when customers don’t spot these things and just let it go. I know my feedback won’t change anything so from now on I’ll be travelling that little bit further to ASDA. Morrisons will be my go to only for milk or anything needed in a hurry. I really feel for people who have difficulty with Apps and surely paying way over the odds for their shopping.

Functionally Useless

The app functions to the basic standard of most grocery rewards apps, and I’ll give it a star for not crashing outright. But the actual content is sometimes so baffling that I honestly wonder if it’s a bug. I’ve had one singular offer available for months now, and it never changes no matter what I do or don’t buy. I had to jump through hoops to get their student club to link to the account, and it just offers. Nothing? It SAYS it does. But functionally there’s nothing. I get three emails a week saying to check my “new deals,” and then there’s nothing. And this may genuinely be a bug, but inline with the rest of the “nothing,” every time I would get a basket reward it would just outright vanish. Often within the hour. £2 off your next shop? Cool. But then if I look back that afternoon there’s no way to find it or even begin to search for it. So TLDR. The app itself works fine. Opens, closes, doesn’t crash often. Is there anything actually ON the app? No. You’ll spend just as much with or without it.
