This is not Montessori!

As a certified Montessori teacher, I am appalled by the large number of apps claiming to be “Montessori.” But this one stood out to me in its offensiveness. Maria Montessori taught us to respect all cultures. Depicting a fox wearing what looks like a Native feather headband is offensive and appropriative. This app is not teaching respect for Native cultures. It is belittling sacred and cultural practices to a cute cartoon that has nothing to do with actual Native culture or Montessori practices.
