Kangarootime Parent

This app is just okay. My number one peeve about this app is you do not get push notifications on anything except messages. As a working mom who is constantly in meetings, I love to be able to look down at my phone briefly and see my child just had a snack, or is taking a nap. Instead, I have to go into the app, refresh the feed, just to see if there are any new updates. Time consuming and sometimes a waste if there are no new notifications. Also, the pictures take a really long time to load. Other parents have mentioned they have this issue as well. There does not seem to be a video feature either. Our school was on a different app before and our teachers would record singing happy birthday or the kids dancing to music. That is not an option any longer. The customer service is great. We have reached out a few times because of an issue with an assigned guardian not being able to log in. Customer service had it resolved that same day. The end of day email does the job. It provides a PDF of the child’s day in review. How long they slept, the pictures of the day, etc. If there are any improvements to that it would be to include the basics in the body of the email instead of just the PDF (last diaper or potty time, last feeding, how long they slept). Overall, I think this app has some areas of improvement that would make the parent functionality much easier and user friendly.

The app is a great way to see what my child did throughout the day. We love seeing the pictures and comments the teachers leave. I wish we could write comments back to the teachers. Maybe that is a feature not turned on by our center or maybe it is something you can look into for the next enhancement.

Kangarootime is a well made app with outstanding support to back it up. Using Kangarootime makes you feel like you’re right there with your child. Instead of a one size fits all app, there are many options and choices to accommodate the different types of families that have become the norm. One of the best things about Kangarootime is their support. When installing the app I had a few problems that I couldn’t resolve, so I sent an email to their support team. Before I could close my email app, I received a reply from Kelly. She was incredibly nice, patient, knowledgeable and fast! She solved my problem immediately and over the next 2 days helped me fine tune the app and explained everything I asked her about. I have not received this level of support in a long time. I didn’t think it even existed anymore! When using an app that is helping families connect with their children’s daycare experience, efficient and friendly support is invaluable. I feel very happy with the switch to Kangarootime. The extended features are great, but what really makes me feel comfortable with the app is the excellent support. It says that this company cares about the kids and families they are helping to stay connected. Thank you!
