FindPenguins: Travel Tracker

Not only have I use this app on numerous trips, but a number of friends have adopted it as well. What is so cool is that you can do a trip with a beginning date and the ending date and every day of the trip you can post 10 photos and two videos. The top shows your progress on your journey and where you’ve been. You control the friends that will follow you and be able to read your journal and see your photos. Penguins is a great way to remember where you were, what you saw, who you met, and what you ate. Nothing is more frustrating and getting home and than having a mishmash of pictures which are hard to assemble chronologically. It’s also frustrating when you go to restaurants and take beautiful photos and then forget what restaurant it was and which day you ate there. As an added bonus, if you decide to make a picture book of your journal, it’s never easy to do.

I love how easy it is to add photos from any photo folder on my iPhone and the interactive map. We haven’t tried the printed books yet, but it sounds amazing. Our family and friends have found it hard to see our travel log and the settings can be a little confusing so we only have one family follower who has been able to figure it out, so we keep a separate shared iCloud folder for everyone else. We also had a friend who was added to someone else’s trip (mistakenly) and because we followed her there was no way to unfollow that particular random person’s trip to Germany 🤪… so that was frustrating for a bit. Otherwise it’s great! I especially like that I can add photos as a draft even when we have a poor signal and add text and upload them later. ❤️

I took a solo trip down the east coast and created this private digital space to log my travels. I invited people to follow along every step of the watt. They couldn’t wait to see my daily entries. The one evening I didn’t post I received calls checking to make sure I was ok. I now have pictures and details of the entire trip. I also ordered the book. It is absolutely amazing. The attention to quality and detail has created a life long treasure. I love this app and also the book they created for me. I highly recommend you log your next trip with us app. It is really special. I only wish I could attach a quick video of my book so you could see it!
