I gravitated toward this app based on several real life anecdotes I heard of CMB leading to long term relationships. I had no previous dating app experience and knew I wanted something serious. Thankfully, that’s exactly the vibe i got right off the bat. All of the profiles I saw were in my preferences and I could tell these people put in a Lot of effort to express themselves clearly and be forward with their intentions. I probably could have been on here for a while and had several great conversations / dates. Also, generally, the app’s format seemed straightforward and easy to use. I say probably for the same reason my review title says I got really lucky. After setting up my profile and getting some likes, i stuck around to see who was liking my profile (the app doesnt show you right away without a subscription… unless someone sends you “flowers”)… and I got some flowers! :)) that let me see his profile right away, and long story short, we hit it off immediately. He was the first conversation I had and we instantly clicked, our conversation flowed right from the app to texting to dates. We’ve been seeing each other seriously for a while now and we feel amazing about it!! I wouldnt be writing this review if it hadnt gone so perfect for me. I literally dont ever review anything. If youre looking for something serious, I would Definitely try this out. This app struck me as way more wholesome than the other apps Ive heard about. :) happy dating, yall!
I used CMB (no paid subscription) several years ago and thought it was great, had some solid matches and several nice dates. So now that I’m back on the market, I came back thinking the experience would be similar. But now? Almost everything is paywalled (and WAY overpriced, even for relatively basic features), suggested matches aren’t at all my type, you can’t see most people who liked you without paying, and I’m convinced that many women on here are no longer active users (as a free user, you can’t see if someone been online recently). Feels like applying to jobs in the current market…just throwing a paper airplane into the void with a very slim chance of receiving a response. Not sure how CMB is still rated as high as it is because these reviews suggest that a lot of people have had similar experiences (survey bias notwithstanding). I highly recommend checking out Hinge instead. They’ve really got the free-to-use model figured out, and their algorithm appears to be making suggestions based on the information in my profile and who I like…what a crazy idea, pairing people based on common interests! Notably, Hinge *requires* you to completely fill out your profile before you can start sending/receiving likes—CMB does not, hence the glut of profiles that are extremely light on any sort of meaningful details. This forces people to make judgment calls based solely on someone’s appearance, which I’d say runs totally counter to the ethos of being an app for people who want to date with intention.
Just another awful scam to pain peoples’ love lives further. Tries its best to reel you in and then make you desperate enough to pay (if your male mostly) 😀 Once (if) you ever get a like, it will be blurred uNlEsS yOu PaY Oh and they won’t allow those people to readily show up in your suggested or discover feeds ofc - why should you be able to connect with someone without having to pay through the nose? Cmon guys don’t be silly, corporations have apparently zero ethical sense and want your money Prices are also disgusting and ridiculous. I will not be giving you a single cent. I’m also not sure what a “bean” is, but I won’t be paying for that either. Be gone match group clone Primary difference between this app and others is that this one is functionally broken and shows you the same people over and over and over and pulls people from your discover feed (“outside of your type”) and puts them into your suggested feed LOL 😂 no Let’s take guesses on how long before they too get sued SHAME How do you sleep at night messing with people like this to ultimately charge them a TON of money, in a hard time economically, for a service that doesn’t even work Message to the shot callers behind these predatory, despicable dating app companies : We do not like you We do not like your AlGoRiThM We do not like your product We cannot wait for your stock price to drop even further Go out of business please
