Waiter: less dating, more love

This app is a good concept and theoretically an alternative to the pseudo-monopoly of Match Group (Tinder, Hinge, many others) and Bumble (public company…bad idea to mix shareholders and profits that closely with something as personal as dating and relationships) but unfortunately is very misleading. I live in a rural area and the amount of beautiful women this app showed in my area was not even close to believable (as much as I wish it were). The profiles are clearly from all over the world and I’m sure many of them are fake / recycled / inactive. I had 2 matches over a month, one of which was believable, and no return messages. I find it unethical for companies to mislead users like this, especially paying customers. Fortunately I was issued an App Store refund. For folks that don’t pick up on the deception, think of the mental health and self-doubt issues this could cause thinking they’re not desirable as a date. Remember - consumers are in control with our time and money - spend it elsewhere.

Im 99.9 % sure this app is a scam. I had this app for months and have never had a match. Then I got a notification recently that I had matched with someone who I didn’t chose and if I spent money I could see who they were and instantly match with much to my chagrin... Almost immediately after I paid to see who my match was the match disappeared. (Forced me to put 5stars to get 1 free match so far not one match)

I really like the idea of this app - patience is a virtue that allows you to make sound choices. That being said, there are 3 potential matches curated for you each day. You choose one for free, but only from that specific day’s matches. It would make more sense to be able to forgo new matches to pick someone you missed before instead of needing to purchase “tips.” This process seems the most reasonable if the algorithm is really picking suitable matches, and the goal is for matchmaking NOT profit. A lot of profiles look very fake, which makes the experience less enjoyable. Overall, not a satisfying social experience. I will likely delete and use something else.
