Castle Duels: Royal PvP Battle

I personally really like this game; it’s super fun to play and keeps me wanting to grind for characters sometimes. However, I’m really disappointed that this game is pay to play. In order to progress you need to upgrade your best characters but guess what? It takes forever to do so unless you pay for it. It’s not cheap either, you get a tiny amount of diamonds or whatever you’re buying for so much more than it’s worth; 0.99 cents will get you 30 crystals, plus all the chests in the game are 999 diamonds or more (you think I’m joking). If you want to get a specific character it’s $15-$30 dollars not to mention the bundles they want you to buy. I get the developers have to make their money but it’s a little insane. In my opinion it’s not worth the money on any of it and I’ve bought things on the game before. The only thing I would say is worth it to me are the different battle passes and the $3 legendary card. Make things less expensive or make it to where people can keep up without spending $1500. Also make the events 6 days instead of 4 days please I can never finish the events unless I pay to finish it and I’ve tried grinding for it throughout all 4 days without spending money. I hope you listen and do something about it because I truly do like this game and would love to keep playing but this is making me not want to play anymore.

I was playing another game that was similar to this one - gameplay, graphics, and style… but the difference for me was the ad system. Yes, these all have ads that you click on to gain extra items and rewards, but this one is fair. I hate when you click on an ad and it makes you wait 30 secs, then you click the ‘x’ to close it, and it makes you wait 10 more seconds, then you miss the ‘x’ and you have to wait longer. I often felt cheated, and it really made me hate to click the ads. This one doesn’t do that. Also, this is a high quality game in its own right. The graphics are great, the system is well thought out, and the gameplay is solid. One small thing I wish they implemented is a clearer way to tell the level of merge of a character during gameplay. Yes, you get familiar with the different looks the more you play the game, but it would be nice to have a simple “level 1, 2, 3, etc” on the character piece (when you click on it, or something).

I’ll only give a game a star rating on the App Store about 50% of the time, so you know it takes a special game to get me to actually write a review. This game is worth the time to do both! The gameplay is easy enough to understand and get going quickly, which means the tutorial is not annoyingly long and boring - big win right out the gate. The characters are drawn well, with fun animations for their respective actions. The challenge is in determining your best hand as you progress. It takes some tweaking to get a nearly unbeatable hand, and it’s fun to swap cards out to see how another combination might work. There are a decent number of free rewards, both as optional video ads and as you level up, and the prices on the paid items are within the normal range of any other game. I definitely recommend upgrading your seasonal passes, as those really help you bring your gameplay to the next level. You can buy levels on them to get more rewards at a very reasonable price, too. I have been playing multiple times per day for a while now, and I really, really enjoy this game. Well done!
