On the new season of Rush Royale, game devs decided to nerf already struggling decks by making it harder for them to play and making the monsters stronger and less rewards from defeating them. Amidst a game culture of rare upgrades to pivotal cards in player’s decks. The solution? To open your bank account and purchase their many store offers. The only way to find success in this game at this point is to spend money on it, and not battle pass chump change either. Real upgrades come from buying packages straight out the store which add up after awhile. They made it “easier” to get legendary units by adding summoning, then decided that made the game too easy so they added a necessary material to upgrade said card. Now it’s easier to get those materials than the actual card itself. Or if you’re lucky enough to have enough cards to upgrade, you definitely won’t have enough materials to increase the level. Guess what the only way to ensure you have everything is… I understand the bottom line for a game company is to make profit, but you don’t make the game essentially unplayable to those that play for free/barely pay. You just make it slightly easier for those who do pay. Instead you’ve sold out your free player base for the more financial free players. Idk how much longer I can participate in this social experiment of peer pressured consumerism. Money>>> skill in this game
Great game! Love to play it, kinda addicted to it)) But there are some issues in my opinion. First of all, PLEASE, nerf Witch! It’s really annoying! It’s impossible to play against Witch (Portal Keeper doesn’t always help). Almost every player uses Witch, which makes it difficult to use my own strategy. Portal keeper always reserves a place in my deck (to have a chance against Witch). You have to nerf it. Make it’s debuff time-limited maybe or change it completely, please! Second, you give very small amount of gold in the game compared to what is required to develop your deck. Leveling up gets very very expensive, ascending talents is also expensive, there are heroes as well as their items to level up. Either give more money (at least at the end of the season) or decrease the required amount of gold to develop. Third, I don’t understand how matchmaking works. After 4-5K trophies, I usually ply against players with higher trophies, more crit and higher lvl cards. Sometimes, the difference can be 2x. This makes it impossible to move up to higher ranks and develop. It just makes the experience annoying and makes me want to uninstall this game. I really love this game and want it to be fun! That’s why I’m writing this review. Fourth, after 5K if you lose in a PvP mode, the amount of trophies deducted is almost the same as the amount you get if you win a battle. How is that even possible? With such poor matchmaking, it’s becoming even harder to go up in rank! I hope you won’t ignore this review and take into account the issues I’ve pointed out.
This has the potential to be a really fun game. I’ve been playing this game for about a month, so my review has some credibility to it. This is a fun game. The only downside is the upgrades during battle are random and you can’t control what happens. You could be winning a battle then upgrade one of your fighters and all of the sudden the entire momentum you had could explode and you will lose the battle. This game would be a home run if the upgraded fighter stayed the same. Take “Pyrotechnic” for example, when there is an odd number on the board he attacks random enemies but it creates area damage injuring close targets (a pretty effective attack IMO) but when there is an even number on the board his attack speeds up, but he only attacks this first enemy and no area damage. So I will have an odd number of “Pyrotechnics” on the board and I will be winning the battle, but then I upgrade something like a “Sharpshooter” and it turns into a “Pyrotechnic” and all that f the sudden I will start losing. I try frantically to upgrade everything to try and get an odd number of “Pyrotechnics” back on the board, but by that time I’ve already lost the battle. In all reality a very high leveled player could lose to a much lower level player just by luck of the draw. There is some strategy that a player could try, but winning or losing is really just luck. If I want to play a game that’s just luck based I will play slot machines. If the developers ever make the upgrades controllable this game would get five stars.
I’ve been enjoying this game since I downloaded it a few months ago. However, recently more and more bugs keep coming up and none of them are getting fixed while they keep releasing new versions of a battle pass so that you don’t have just one battle pass to buy but 2 or 3! Everything is being over monetized. I have no issue with a company making money. That’s how they stay a business! But when the only new content seems to be pay to win content and tons of monetization while game breaking issues such as the connection bugs are still an issue it makes me wonder why I open the app. I’ve had plenty of games recently where I’m about to win then randomly my screen pops up “the connection can’t be restored” and it gives me a loss. I have great internet so there is no reason that should be happening. Another issue is that players with bad internet actually gain an advantage when running a shaman deck because the way the servers are set up the player with great internet will still lag massively due to the slow internet player meaning you can’t defend against shaman. Many of these bugs cause me to want to stop playing instantly after one happens because it’s demoralizing losing a game that you should have won. If these bugs are fixed and some balance changes happen then I would likely change my review to a 4 or 5 star. I believe this is a fun game but recently has been going in the wrong direction.
Rush Royale might not look too spectacular in its adds or on its store page, but it’s a game that makes smart decisions where many other games lack. It’s progression systems are very rewarding to regular players (although a little bit dépendant on watching a couple ads each time you play) but the ads are not forced upon the player which is great! The game has very unique gameplay that is extremely replayable, both for coop modes or pvp. While there are certain aspects of the game that are heavily reliant on RNG, and this can make certain matches feel totally unfair sometimes, it’s part of the challenge of balancing a game like this where the units auto target, randomly spawn in, and randomly change when merging. There are many other things I could point out about the game that I enjoy, but really I think the frequency of updates and development by the devs (for the time being at least) show that this game has much room to grow and a community of devs and players that are totally engaged and enjoying playing Rush Royale. If there was slightly less frustrating RNG I would easily give the game five stars, but as it stands almost all of the systems of combat rely on RNG, which just is not as fun to interact with as the game could be.
