Surprisingly helpful

I was drawn to try this app because I saw their social posts and felt a sense of “they get it” when it comes to trauma. I found that consistent throughout the process of moving through the storytelling and lessons. This is the first time I’ve focused on a memory repeatedly. And while there were times where I sensed some resistance in my body, I slowed my pace and trusted the process laid out on the app. And found by the end that I’d seen some things I hadn’t before and was able to connect some pieces of my story in a way that was more meaningful. Would recommend.

H.O.P.E. - Hold On Pain Ends

I am deeply grateful for the Rebound app. This has been such a useful tool in my healing journey. I value the slow, supportive pace and process of the storytelling method, and I also appreciate the heart icon - a button I can press whenever I am feeling overwhelmed. I enjoy the compassionate, gentle approach of this app, along with its teaching and implementing effective grounding skills. I cannot change my past nor my story. I can learn to speak about it in a safe, supportive way. I can process, feel, and heal. As I let go, the pain will lessen as the wound heals. Thank you, Rebound, for supporting healing and advocating for hope.

1 month sober thanks to Rebound

I’ve had a diagnosed ED since I was 12/13. Gone through extensive treatment that lasted years. Nothing was working and my ED was morphing throughout the spectrum of it to restriction to binging/purging. I’ve had lots of trauma in my life and have cptsd. I was SA’d by my first boyfriend and forced myself to push it away and forget. Eventually it rose to the surface and I just ran on the treadmill to work through my emotions but didn’t work through the trauma or talk about it with anyone. Over the last two years my life has been controlled almost completely by binging and purging. I was ashamed of myself and felt hopelessly stuck. Everyday was the same cycle and everyday I hated myself and where I was more and more. I downloaded rebound after seeing it on the App Store and thought we’ll it couldn’t hurt. I chose my SA to focus because my other trauma was longer term and a little more complicated. I sat down a couple times maybe for about an hour or so and went through the lessons and talked about it. It actually helped me remember some stuff as well! Days after I had done some consistent lessons and had time to work through it a flip switched in my head. For two years I had relentless binge/purging cycles and urges. I couldn’t go more than a couple days without giving in because the urges just wouldn’t subside or lessen in intensity despite the time passing. But one day they were just..gone. Unbeknownst to be I was probably using my binging and purging as a coping mechanism for past trauma when I had assumed it was just about boredom and my lack of self control. Since this trauma had been years ago I thought my ED behaviors weren’t connected but I’ve definitely been proven otherwise. I’m ecstatic to report I’m 1 month and counting completely clean from binging and purging and I couldn’t thank the people who created this app enough. I owe you my freedom and improving quality of life. Along with improving my ED it’s helped me better process and get over a more recent trauma that was ongoing for 4 years. I couldn’t recommend this app more. Literally changed my life.
