Love this old school RPG that plays so much like ones I played decades ago. THANK YOU for making it turn-based! I am just too old and slow to play twitch games, lol. I love being able to find stuff, though I am soon going to run out of space (well, to be honest, I am constantly having to sell and salvage and run to the trader as already I do run out of space). One thing that I would find helpful, is to have an easy way to know what the icons mean. So, for example, I see I can pay for inventory space, or get what looks like a chest, but I am not sure what the difference is. I would like to know before buying. And on the map completion reward section, it starts with an icon that I assume is invisible doors, then I am not sure what the other icons are, so I am not sure what I am looking for to complete the map. But wow, already it is my favorite game to play when on my own. I feel like I am far along at level 7, but then I look at the cost of spells, and wow, nope, need to get more money fast. Anyway, Thank you and I cannot wait for more content!
As an OG gamedev (started at sierra online as an artist/animator in 1997 on QfG5, and still going) and avid gamer since the 70’s, I really love what you've done here. I have one question and a critique- Questions: So ready for the next expansion- when will this arrive? Do you need help? lol. Critique: As a completionist, I am highly frustrated when I cannot find missing collectables or cannot access areas that imply they are unlockable. I have played through standard, Elite 1 & Elite 2- and multiple areas are killing my completionist itch. 1. Forest: i am always at 18/19 missing 1 pickup item. either a vase, barrel or some misc. pickup. gah!!! 2. Cirrane: 3 items a. the house inside the locked gate with the buried treasure in the back corner b. the locked 2 story house in front of the gardener’s house. * if these are red herrings I would suggest remove the locked gate so we can access the treasure, and replace the other with a standard building where nothing happens at the door c. the cursed merchant: treasure map 6 is missing (skeleton merchant in Forest has 1-3, looter Merchant in destroyed village has 4, and cursed Merchant in Cirrane has 5+7-10). where is 6?!? 3. Stoneheart Path: Similar to forest & Cirrane, I cannot find the last hidden door nor access the buried treasure (as it is outside the playable area). I really hope you are able to address these so I can slay the completionist dragon in my head. Anyhow, thank you so much for this game.
So 5 star game for sure. I love classic turn based rpgs. Probably played them all and this was what I was looking for but I got 1 complaint and one suggestion. My complaint, if an npc gives a clue about a quest please add it to quest log because their dialogue changes. When burning through dialogue I’m not always closely paying attention to everything every npc says cause I’m not sure it’s relevant then I get a quest saying find these parts of some poem and I remember some npc somewhere said something about poems on a tree or wall or some such thing and I go back and talk to all the npcs again and there dialogue has changed and I can’t get the clue again. Very frustrating ( very much like old school, classic rpg’s but some things don’t need to stay classic. Lol). That out of the way my suggestion is about the bestiary it’s kind of plain. I think unlocking beasts would be for more interesting if you could look at the stats of beasts you unlock and throw in some flavor text ( why are orcs so resistant to fire). Any who thanks for your work I bought a couple chests to support you cause I think this game has great potential.
