Simple, Easy, and All-Around Good

This app is my main go-to for deck building, finding cards I can’t remember names of, or finding new ones. It has a precise filter system that even allows you to search for specific texts of a card, or specific artists. I recommend this to anyone looking for a new Deck-building app. It does have some problems however. Firstly, there’s a significant time lapse between a set’s release and it’s appearance on the app. Some side sets (Vintage Masters, Archenemy Nicol Bolas, etc.) aren’t even listed. There’s a bug (or perhaps an oversight) that lists all cards from the Tarkir Block and Modern Masters sets as illegal in Modern. The app doesn’t include sideboard cards in the deck’s total price, and there is no filter for online-exclusive sets. That aside, most problems are either nit-picks or minor inconveniences.

Quick & easy deck brewing tool

I'm hooked. Fast, super easy to use, and even works off-line. Constantly creating and altering decks any time I have a spare minute. You can back up decks to dropbox, or attach them to an email, as both a text list and .dec file which can be imported with one touch by anybody with the app. Upgraded to pro within days, mainly for the deck stats. The free version already seems to be ad free. My only complaint is the legality of cards is not always correct as cards rotate out of standard. I haven't thought to check to see if banned and unrestricted list cards have current status. But really, all you have to do for that is cross reference the official list. I've tried a lot of apps for Magic, and this is the best one I've tried so far. I haven't even looked since getting this. It does everything I need it to do.

Stellar Magic app with few flaws

Looking for Magic related apps has been relatively difficult. Many of them may have been good at one time, but slowly developers stopped working on them and have not even made it to iOS 8. uMagic lets me browse cards from every set, see their prices and create decks/collections. The extra money I spent ($4) for the "pro version" has paid off as well. I can view my deck stats, and the app stays ad free. The cons to this app are some minor ones, but still show this app could be improved upon and if kept up to date will be the best option for Magic players using iOS as another tool. Sometimes card images won't load, and when they do it is not in a high resolution. Not a huge gripe, but improvement in that area adds to the fullness of uMagic. I have ran across some bugs before the last update that caused recent sets to crash the app and led me to re-install the app to get them working. Since then I have been very happy with uMagic and use it regularly. I highly recommend this app for Magic players looking to keep track of their decks and collections on iOS. If the developer keeps improving it there will be no other options in the App Store.
