I have upgraded this app to four stars. Unfortunately the previous problems I had with this app was because apparently I had two accounts. When my employee migrated to a new UHC website somehow two accounts in my name was created with different log in password. Now things are cleared up and working fine. I only wish there is a way to archive old prescriptions. It would be nice to be able to see only the drugs I’m taking now not the drugs I took a year ago or two years ago or even 30 days ago. I do not like seeing drugs I’m not taking anymore.

I have had United Healthcare for many years. Within the last couple of years this app has become useless. It never seems to recognize my password. The password is showing it is an error when the correct password is used. The UHC app shows medical doctor claims but when it comes to refilling prescriptions none of my existing mail order prescriptions are available within the app. It will show prescriptions I filled at local drug stores but none filled through mail order. This same issue exist on their website. Never showing any existing mail order drug prescriptions. The only way to get a refill is calling directly to UHC. What’s the point of the app? Useless!

The app makes it easy to track deductibles/max out-of-pocket expenses. I find the search function VERY useful when looking for new doctors/specialists. In fact, I made appointments with a couple of different specialists in less than an hour while using the app. It would have taken me much longer to verify in-network providers, while still managing to find people with top-notch reviews (I’m pretty picky when it comes to trusting/seeing people for my healthcare). The only gripe I have is that some of the providers that came up in the app’s search engine had since been closed or relocated. They just need to stay more on top of keeping that information current and up-to-date, I suppose.

While it’s nice to be able to photograph and submit bills to claims from your phone, this app’s shortcomings make it extremely frustrating. First, it crashes randomly when attempting to complete claim information, and it is impossible to submit consecutive claims without it crashing again (you have to restart the app and log in again). However, even if you could submit consecutively, it wouldn’t matter much because the app won’t save any of your claim data for the next submittal. And when you do get the claims submitted, 40% of the time UHC will request more information and say the bill is incomplete no matter how carefully you take the photo of the bill, necessitating a phone call or secure email session with UHC.
And this isn’t a recent development. This app has had this problem for at least the last year, and none of the updates have fixed it. UHC needs their development team to get their act together and make this app more stable and easier to use for the claims process.
