Overall feels much improved compared to the previous version. However, the analysis board on iPad is glitchy compared to the iPhone version. The analysis variations sometimes show and sometimes don’t even though the evaluation toggle is on and the evaluation bar is showing. Also would be nice in the iPad version to have the game move forward on the analysis board using keys on attached keyboard, similar to the computer version.

Lichess is hands down the best chess platform out there if you value fairness, simplicity, and freedom. It’s the only major chess app that is 100% free — no ads, no paywalls, no “premium” features locked behind a subscription. Every feature is available to all users equally, whether you’re a beginner or a grandmaster. From puzzles and lessons to tournaments and analysis tools, everything works smoothly and without interruption. The open-source spirit of Lichess shows — it’s built for the community, by the community. If you want a clean, respectful, and honest place to enjoy chess, this is it. 5/5 — Not just a great app, but a great philosophy.

I always have a “1” badge notification no matter what, and don’t receive any push notifications. I could have three correspondence games awaiting response or no games (and no messages) and still there is that “1”badge and still no pop up notifications. Analysis board is glitching out randomly too. And this has been an issue since launch, but if you finish a correspondence game in the app, the rematch button is always greyed out. I can rematch on the web but not in the app. Want to love it, but these issues need to be addressed.
