Circular Ring - Health Tracker

I used the ring and app for 2 months and found the experience pretty horrible - I disliked the daily manual data sync process, had regular data sync problems and sleep monitoring inaccuracies, the EKG feature was unreliable, and above all I really disliked the reward coins and the daily “how I feel” evaluation which was very offputting and felt like a cheap attempt to create dopamine rewards within the app. Therefore, I submitted a request to return my ring but was put through a series of infuriating email interactions. I’m fairly certain that the emails were all composed by AI. When I requested phone support, Circular refused (they don’t offer it. Period.) In the end, they refused to return my ring because too much time had elapsed from my purchase date, which was entirely due to their customer service process which took 2 additional months of me collecting evidence of the faulty data issues and emails back and forth (none of which even attempted to address my complaints about the user experience, their customer service only would acknowledge technical issues, ignoring entire aspects of what made their product subpar). I strongly advise against this product.

The content of the app is great. The navigation of it is ok, could definitely improve it. But the worst part is that it is terrible at syncing data. This goes two ways: it’s connected by Bluetooth, but for some reason it *frequently* can’t establish a connection. I simply don’t understand this, it’s basic functionality. But even worse than that: it is never synced with the servers. So first it has to pull data from the ring — it should be able to update your scores with this info, but it requires data from the servers. The server-side sync takes anywhere from 90 seconds to several minutes *when it works*. In order to sync, you need to have the app open and be doing nothing else (can’t start sync, check your email, then come back). You just sit there and stare at the screen. If it’s creating a workout report, it restarts the process multiple times. Once it took 30+ minutes. Why can’t the syncing occur in the background? I love having the ring and monitoring the scores — but I’ll be getting a different ring next time bc the most important thing (actually getting the information) only works 25% of the time.

After the last update, all of the information has been wiped out. I don’t have any more of the analytics on the Home Screen Like HRV, breathing, sleep assessment, etc. All I have is heart rate and check live measurements. When I tap on the circles, all I get is not enough data and I wear my ring all the time. The calibration period is done as well. I also can’t go back to look at any data from previous days, so unless you wake up at 11:55pm to analyze your limited data, you lose it all. I am very disappointed in how much I paid for the ring and how little value I’m getting out of it Update: they finally sent out some instructions on how to fix the issue but there are still lingering issues out there. Only increased the score to 3 as there is still much to be desired.
