Golf Dreams

I've been playing this golf game for about a year and a half, and overall, it's been a really enjoyable experience. There have been some fantastic runs where I've played exceptionally well, but there have also been moments of frustration, especially when it comes to the ranked matches. One issue I've noticed is the distinct feeling that I’m not always playing against real people. Over time, I've gotten pretty good at distinguishing between actual players and AI, and in ranked matches, the AI behavior seems incredibly obvious. The shots and scores of some opponents just don’t add up with the clubs they’re using. For example, I might have a solid string of victories, only to be paired with someone who clearly has subpar clubs, yet they manage to outplay me—sometimes by a wide margin. There have been rounds where I've played exceptional golf, shooting -8 or even -9 under par, only to have my "opponent" (who is clearly an AI) pull off an impossible -10. It feels like the game intentionally sets up these situations, letting me reach the final round before throwing in a completely unrealistic performance from an obvious AI. This kind of match-making is seriously frustrating and, unfortunately, it’s starting to ruin what could otherwise be a very fun experience.

I’ve played so many rounds I love the feel of this game. It’s missing some features that would make it more rewarding to play. I’ve maxed out my rank in ranked play and there’s nothing left for me to do. I still win every match and it’s not rewarding being top rank and not having a number ranking or more ranks to go. I haven’t maxed out my competitive ability. I don’t get new clubs enough to keep playing in single player tournaments. I really only wait for the weekly league and hope I get one or two driver cards because they’re the only clubs I need but I’m still so far off. Not sure I’ll ever get my La Bomba to even level 3 because I’ve played over 2000 rounds and just got it to level 2. Certain holes like 6 on sunset are unreachable unless the wind is helping a lot.

This is the best golf game on the App Store no question. However… the tournaments that require tickets to enter can be infuriating. For a few reasons. For instance, sometimes even if I birdie 5 of 6 holes in a tournament I can still lose because an AI eagles and hole in ones the last two holes (which has happened numerous times) out of nowhere. I love that this game is challenging but sometimes it’s a bit ridiculous. My only other issue and the reason I’m even writing a review is because I grinded and played a great round to just pull off a 1st place at sunset valley which is a tough course and costs 15 tickets to play. Following my win I clicked “OPEN CHEST” only for me to receive ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I’m not sure if this is a glitch or what but I am fuming over it. To sum everything up this is a great game and I’ve recommended it to all my friends and I will definitely continue to play. I just hope the issues I mentioned are addressed. P.S, I’ve never written a review before but this game deserves one and 5 stars because you’ve finally given me a good golf game to play on my phone. And I thank you for that :)
