I had a personal trainer for a good 6 months, and I got so burnt out. I have tracked macros and lifted weights for the last 10 years. I had twins and thought losing pp weight, I just needed to go back and do what I did before. I got the same trainer I had before the twins, and I BARELY lost weight. I was so over all of it. I has seen Abby when I first first started getting into weightlifting. Stumbled across this and I LOVE it! I get to have running (which I really have been loving), lift weights and add a spice of Pilates, but it’s also DO ABLE at home! I can feel myself getting stronger, I’m able to commit because they’re not 2 hour workouts. I use to struggle with consistency in my workouts, but I have almost fully completed one of the show up series without missing a day.
I’ve followed Abby for a long time on social/YouTube. I love that she incorporates science into her training and dieting. As her plans progressed I admittedly was put off by the transition she made to including Pilates and challenging our bodies through multiple planes. I seriously thought that I wouldn’t receive any benefit from this new style of training. Injuries, stiff body, unsustainable diet plans, all led me back to giving her plans a shot. Her plans are very well thought out. My body and joints feel better, I am getting stronger and seeing results, and I am able to do more with my toddler (the biggest win of all). Training for maintaining mobility, independence, and functional strength is the way to go. Especially as an RN who had seen the spectrum of what 80+ years could look like. I know I want to continue using her app for years to come.
Just downloaded the app and it’s beautiful and I Love the full workout videos and the breakdown of the workout plans/types- so much so that I’m seriously considering purchasing the year subscription. Things that could use some work: -I would like if there was a way to keep track of/mark off what workouts in a plan have already been completed and have the next workout ready upon next login- Instead of clicking on the video, and scrolling through the “up next” videos to find where I left off. And from what I recall, the workouts aren’t numbered either so it’s hard to remember when I left off. -I would like if a calendar was built in to the app (instead of printing one) that we could add in and track our workouts to. -I’m not the biggest fan of the pdf information links. I think it would more streamlined if the information was integrated in the app instead of clicking open the links and having to zoom in on the information. -And this is a big thing that might not be possible in the near future, but as someone who doesn’t like or use Facebook/social media much, I can’t join in on the Team Plans community and feel like I could be missing out on tips or competitions or- the community! I think adding in the community INTO the app would be great because it’s all together in one place. -A place for progress pics would be fantastic too. Overall, I am very excited to take full advantage of the app and can’t wait to see new updates in the future.
