I have to agree with what other reviewer said about this app in this company, the technology works some of the time… When it works it’s great, when it doesn’t work it’s horrific. The app is super buggy and as of right now it just isn’t connecting. The saving grace is that the people who run their customer service are often quite helpful and will get back to you right away. That’s not always the case, but when they do, they’re very communicative. I just wish this thing would work.

I was happy to find and use the chargers as they were in a location that I frequent, and it made the burden of charging my vehicle a little more doable However, I was very unhappy to learn that they recently changed their policy to start enforcing a $50 pre-authorization for every charge. I find this extremely insane for a transaction that, at max, usually comes out to $11-$13. Other charges in the area do not attempt a $50 pre-authorization or any pre-auth for you to charge your vehicle. The way I see other chargers that do not require any pre-Auth amount is that they either load a certain amount to their service account card and charge based on that amount. If it exceeds that amount, the customer is forced to pay the remaining amount before starting another charge. Some chargers even have memberships where if you frequently use their chargers, the payment amount is pulled from an account you set up with them instead to combat nonpayment issues. There are so many different ways and solutions that can be employed here other than charging your customers $50 as a pre-authorization each time they wish to use your service. One of the Chargers locations that I frequent is near a low-budget gym. If I'm going to this sort of gym, what makes you think that I have $50 for you each time I wish to charge my car with you? You are limiting access.

This is my first App Store review. I have evoke units installed in my apartment building. They only work about 70% of the time, usually due to a bug activating the charger with this app. Even if the core functionality worked, the app is poorly implemented. Screens are slow to load, I have no charging history despite using this service to charge multiple times and every time I charge it says I will be billed $0.04/kWH. I’ve never been billed. Not confidence inspiring. 2 stars because at least it sometimes works.
