I purchased a Sense 2 in September 2024 to allow daily updates to the most important water parameters Cl and pH. I monitored the first few weeks of results from the unit with my own drop chemical tests to get an idea of the accuracy. Even though the results would be slightly off the drop test results (~ 0.1 on pH and ~ 0.5 ppm FC) they were consistent and repeatable which satisfied my intended usage of monitoring trends in between more accurate drop tests. I must add that absolute accuracy was better than I expected having read some online reviews. My main concern was repeatability which was good with the unit. What I was not as happy with was the battery life. A fresh set of C cell batteries would last only about 4-5 days. I contacted support with my concern and they said my unit was defective because batteries should last up to 5-6 months and they sent me a new unit. The new unit has been in the skimmer for almost 3 months now and the off-brand batteries that came with the unit are still at 93%! So the battery usage issue is definitely hugely improved and I can now believe the 6 months claim with a quality battery set. Overall very happy with it now and can recommend!
I love my Sense 2, which I use to monitor the chemistry in my salt water hot tub. I used a high quality digital PH meter to compare numbers with the Sense 2 and the results were within the margin of error for both devices. Chlorine readings from the Sense 2 closely line-up with the colors on two brands of test strips. Now I don’t have to constantly mess around with test strips to keep my water balanced! I only gave 4 stars for some reliability reasons, but I would give 4.5 stars if I could. The device can be a bit fickle about connecting to my WiFi network, but those occasional problems eventually get corrected. Also, I’ve experienced two power supply issues with devices that required the devices to be replaced. On a positive note, customer service from Water Guru has been truly outstanding and my defective devices were quickly replaced.
This product was delivered to me in a timely fashion, but never functioned at all. Despite repeated (dozens) of requests for customer support over the past 10 days or so, via email and phone, the ONLY response I have via email was that someone would be back to me within one business day. This was several days ago. This product is a brilliant concept, but these people will not be around for long without any customer service, whatsoever. Don’t waste your time and energy here. Someone else will build a mousetrap that actually works. July 11, 2021 An update to my earlier review. Finally received some customer support. They made it right and got me a unit that works. It appears to have been a defective cartridge. The unit has now been working as I hoped it would for about a week now. If this continues, I am happy. The story from customer support was that they have been inundated during their busiest season. Not a great excuse, but leaves hope for future improvement. I’ll update again in a month or so. Stay tuned. August 26, 2021. An additional update. The product has now been working flawlessly for about 60 days and is doing exactly what I want it to. Customer service was very slow to respond, but eventually made things right. I will now recommend this product wholeheartedly. Hopefully, you won’t encounter the difficulties I did, but if you do they will make it right, even if it takes a while.
