Reviews: What People Think About OmniLogic

New pool with Omnilogic. Been using for about 6 months now and it’s great. No issues at all. Let’s you control EVERYTHING but also super intuitive and easy to use. It just works. I was worried after doing my research and reading some negative reviews, but I have no regrets.
We have both solar and gas heaters. I was concerned that it may be problematic controlling both but the app is very straight forward to select which one has priority. And select heaters for pool and spa separately. Works flawlessly. You can even run both at the same time which I’ve been told that the other manufactures controller won’t allow. And all the programmable timers for the pumps, lights, water features, etc. are super easy to set up and adjust. The lighting control with the Colorlogic led lights is great. Smooth and no loud “clunks” when switching between colors. I just hope everything keeps working like it is.
My only (minor) suggestion for improvement would be to have the water temp stay up after the pumps turn off. I realize it can’t give you actual water temp without the pumps running but I’ve seen on other manufacture apps it gives the “last water temp”. Just so you’d have an idea of what the water temp was when the pumps last shut off. Also, more colors and shows for the lights! Like 30 is not enough! :)
Lastly, I hardwired my controller using CAT6 Ethernet wire just to eliminate any WiFi issues.

I’ll keep it relatively brief. I researched a bunch of different systems when my pumps died in 2019 and knew I wanted a system that came with automation that could be controlled from my iPhone and Alexa. It works with both well enough. Occasionally losing connection that is fixed by either quitting and restarting the app, or restarting the network. But it’s mostly reliable. I wish it had a few more features, both with hardware and software, but mainly I’d just like easier, more efficient access to turn the two pumps and one light relay on/off right from the home screen instead of having to go several levels in and out of menus on the app or local touch screen just to turn them on/off. Also, I’d love to be able to see the temperature without having to go all the way back to the home screen (wouldn’t need that if I had all my controls on one screen) and would love to see the temp when the pumps are off. All in all, I recommend it. I installed everything myself, including modifying the plumbing to fit and even added two GVA-24 actuators. The only thing I can’t get to work yet is turning on my old heater, which should just work with the built-in heater relay. Just hope they continue to support the software for years to come, otherwise, it’s going to be $3,000+ worth of pool equipment that I’d have to control locally, which would defeat the whole purpose. 🤞🤞

Hard wired to router, and we still have issues during the evenings using the app sometimes it works great, other times you have to hard close the app, and sometimes more than once. It would be nice if home automation was local when it can be and cloud based when it needs to be. But no, no internet no remote controlling your pool unless you buy something in addition to the main unit. I knew what I was buying, but the number of times Alexa didn’t respond when asking Hayward to turn off all pool features is more than I can keep track of. Disappointing.

I’m sure you have people ask and suggest this all the time. If you look at what happen with Chamberlain / LiftMaster, and their online not published API with developers. They eventually blocked access, using Cloudflare, because of the large amount of traffic to their Cloud based solution. Their cost kept on increasing because developers had to use polling for seeing the status of their garage doors, which greatly increase the amount of traffic that they had going to their online API. The amount of traffic that you have going to your online cloud API would greatly decrease if you’d provide access via a local network API option. Even if it is not for the app, most people using home automation would use the local solution rather than the cloud via the app.
