Tabletop Toolbox

It’s an amazing app, let’s just get that out the way first. It’s effective, minimalistic, and rather enjoyable. Those reasons are why I will continue to use it even with this insane bug. When I open the app for the first time, either from opening it after running in the background, or opening it from having it completely closed, I have to spam-open the app at least five times before I can use it for about 10 minutes, and then I have to re-spam the app.

I’m always on the lookout for apps to help me step up my table top game. I play a bunch of different systems so having a free form app to adapt to different character types, attributes, skills, systems, etc... is very helpful. Some things I would like to see would be the option to rearrange stats/skills/items/etc... sometimes I get ahead of myself and having to delete everything just to change the order can be tedious. Maybe the addition of common system templates (like attribute layout) or the ability to create templates for systems we play to make character creation a bit smoother. I would also like to see maybe a donate button/option for an ad free experience. I like to support apps I find useful. Having an option to backup or export characters would be nice in case you need to share characters, migrate devices, or lose a device (maybe iCloud or Dropbox?) Overall though, a very helpful app, keep up the good work!

The way that this app handles character creation is minimalistic, but that’s why it’s effective. Many other apps and programs try to fit one system, and then I would toy around with 3 or 4 apps for all the different games I play. With this, all I need is Tabletop Toolbox and I can write in and customize anything I would like. Basically, it feels like a very well organized notepad that you hold your characters information. The best thing about this app is the visuals. It looks modern, like something I could actually expect from a 2019 character sheet for an RPG game. The biggest draw with this app due to its customizability is how much typing I’ve done. My hands hurt from typing out every skill, piece of equipment, and notes for my character. For players with hard motor coordination, this is impossible to use. I wish there was a desktop version I could make my characters in, then use that file on my phone. It’s a stretch, but it would make this app a godsend.
