I have been bidding on items for a couple years now. For the most part I have gotten really good items. There is a learning curve to the bidding. You have to understand what the fees are on top of the bid price. They do offer “insurance “ as an option. Which I do use if the item is electric or expensive. You need to pay attention to what store you are bidding at and if the items are able to transfer to the store near you. Don’t get caught up in the bidding wars because next thing you know the item is way over bid.
It’s easy to use the app to get in and out of the stores too.
I have only had really nice experiences with the employees. They explain everything so one can understand how it all works.
The only negative I can say about the business is I wish sometimes there were better pictures of the items up for bid. But they do offer for anyone that wants to check out an item to do so before bidding.

We started using M@c Discount and their app several years back when they only had 3 locations I believe, but now it’s almost as if they’re too big for their own good. 80% of their listings have garbage descriptions because 80% of their workforce is lazy, so 80% of everything you purchases ends up reflecting all of these shortcomings. As time has gone on, the likelihood that we’re bidding on and winning an item that is heavily used and non-working has increased drastically, and it’s really beginning to anger me. Even the “like new” items don’t work or are missing pieces the majority of the time. I can only count on maybe one hand the number of accurately described items we’ve won, and we’ve likely bought over 100 items in the last 3 years…some have been major purchases too. It’s extremely disappointing and over time, if they don’t start cleaning up their listing process, more and more customers are going to stop using them. But hey, who am I, right?! Just another complainer…just bid at your own risk. Remember also, their item condition rating system is a joke and if you try to ask for support for a bad item, you’ll get their usual response basically stating there is no difference between like new, open box, or damaged…any of the three could be in literally any shape.

To the developers or whoever makes these decisions on app features, bring back the “Related” feature! I can search with the various keywords and not find an item in the search results that I know is listed. The “related” link was a godsend in finding things. If I couldn’t find a listing, I could click on one of the results, then click “related” and find items that did not show up in the initial search. After the last update, that “related” feature is gone. Also, I used to be able to use the “browse” tab on app, pull up a list of search results, then click the “watchlist” tab (or any other tab) to see ending times on my watchlist, and go back to the “browse” tab to continue looking through my search results. Now, If I switch tabs and try to go back to the browse tab to pick up where I left off scrolling through search results, the browse tab refreshes, and I have to start a new search at which point I just give up. Again, making it impossible to see all available items in a list or search. As a shopper, these are key features.
Btw, I will say the addition of the ability to search through the purchase history by keyword is terrific! Thank you for adding that. It has saved me tons of time.
