Given that cookies are a billion dollar business, it is astounding that GSUSA can’t put up a better app than this. There are 0 tools here to effectively manage troop inventory. There needs to be a site available to all parents where they can log additional cookie needs after the initial order; tracking what has been requested and picked up is totally up to every volunteer to figure out, even though every troop has to do it. Basic support across platforms would be nice (doesn’t work on my iPad). But more important would be adequate functionality for all troops to perform all cookie related tasks every year.
I have to uninstall and reinstall every year. Each year I hope that it will work and yet every year it continues to prove what a huge disappointment it is. As volunteers trying our best to run a cookie season on top of other Girl Scout obligations (and also just being a parent, worker, etc) this app is supposed to help make our jobs easier. Yet in the last 6 years I’ve been attempting to use it, it hasn’t once worked the way it’s supposed to. Either work on updating it and improving its development or just get rid of it!
It would be nice if eBudde was user friendly. Why can’t they merge or communicate with Digital Cookie? Being the troop TCM this app adds extra work that needs to be fixed for us volunteers! How about making this app or the website link better! Parents should be able to enter in offline sales on Digital Cookie and should be able to adjust. So when the parents use it has what their Girl Scout needs to deliver. When the TCM goes online to prepare to get initial order ready they see the offline cookie orders and it’s combines them with the ones the girls need to order for in person delivery. It is ridiculous that the TCM has to read the order forms parents submit and then rekey what they put in for offline sales for the order cards. Last years TCM messed up so bad with the troops orders causing so much frustration that it caused us to lose a majority of my daughters Girl Scout troop. Now I understand why they were frustrated and why our previous TCM decided to not take on the role again. Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m really close to my troop not selling cookies next year! Please make this platform user friendly for all of us TCM GS volunteers! We don’t get paid and this is a waste of time for me and it takes my time and energy away from my family!
