270 | Two Seventy US Election

I’ve played a lot of election games and the mechanics of this one are by far my favorite. There’s a good amount of strategy and challenge without it feeling impossible to master. There are no ads, and you don’t feel like you’re missing out on too much without any of the paid add-ons, both of which are very rare with free mobile games. HOWEVER, I’ve had a major issue with glitches when playing on the online multiplayer mode. Sometimes there are no issues, but at least once in every three games, there’s some sort of glitch e.g. one of my turns gets skipped, I don’t get the funds for a certain group even though I met the requirements, etc., which makes it very frustrating to play, especially when playing against people who have paid to get the characters with really OP stats. Another small gripe, but in online multiplayer matches, it is often very laggy, and the turn timer will often start with 5-20 seconds already elapsed, which I assume has to do with connectivity issues, but is still annoying.

I really enjoy this game and want to play it regularly, but setting up and getting through a game often feels time-consuming and tricky. Because of that, I end up playing only now and then. It wouldn’t take much to streamline some of the game’s features and make the app more enjoyable, so here are a few suggestions: 1.Randomize Button: It’d be awesome to have a “randomize” button when picking candidates, whether it’s from a specific party or any party. This should be available for both who you play as and who you play against. 2.Better Candidate Colors: The colors for candidates are a bit too similar, and it’s hard to tell them apart sometimes (like, fr, two different shades of blue and two shades of pink in the same match? 😅). Maybe mix up the colors a bit more or randomize them each game. 3.Easier Candidate Browsing: Scrolling through all the candidates for general elections can be a pain, especially when you’re trying to get past the major parties to find the Independents. Adding filters like A-Z, Recently Added, Party, State, or even a search option would make things a lot easier. 4.Suggested Candidates: A list of suggested candidates could be cool, helping players try out new strategies and characters they might not normally pick. 5.Multiple Filters: It would be handy if we could apply more than one state group filter at a time to narrow things down. 6.AI Difficulty Levels: Adding different difficulty levels for single-player games against the AI would make the game more fun and engaging.

There are some serious bugs in the game, one out of every three games I start won’t work, but I love the game, play a lot. I’m a subscriber, but I don’t know how long I will be as the price is very steep. I wish there was a way to have AI and friends play together, like determining how many AI players play and how many don’t. I really enjoy primary mode, however I wish I could play with other people, as the AI is far from great. I’m not sure if complex AI is also for the primary mode, therefore I haven’t bought the complex AI because it would be a waste of money if it was only for General election, as you can join an online game for the general election quite quickly. If you could specify which modes the complex AI covers, that would be great. I really want this game to do well, it is a very fun combo between monopoly and risk in a sense. Maybe you could have a poll on the game asking players what they want to have be the next character added, and knowing that they have choice over what gets added to the game might further incentivize people into subscribing. Also as I was playing primary mode I noticed that you have to know what states are in what month, which makes the game far more difficult than it has to be. You could replace the state groups button with another one where you can press on each month and the states would be illuminated. I know you’re still working on primary mode, I think that’s an important component to the primary mode. I hope you take this into consideration, I love how the game has progressed, can’t wait to see what comes next.
