I downloaded this and signed up excitedly because it said you could select the diets you wanted to follow and then it would flag the foods you scan and tell you if they have ingredients that you shouldn’t have. As someone who is vegan + can’t have wheat, dairy or eggs because they make me sick and am also trying to figure out what else is making me sick, I was excited about this. But then after getting the app and signing up I find out that each of those things I would select would be $2.99 per month, which is ridiculous. Deleted app.
I have a nightshade intolerance. This is rare and no one understands what it is. Swift allows me to scan a barcode and see whether or not food is compliant with I know nightshade diet. I would like the app to flag which ingredient is the noncompliant one. I hope this is a feature coming soon or that may be it already does it and I just don’t know how yet. Will restaurant food to be added? I hope so.
I’m obsessed with this app and recommend it to all my friends and family who are just embarking on trying to understand what’s in their food/read labels! I’ve been gluten/dairy/soy free for over 5 years now and the only thing I wish is that this app existed sooner! It’s so helpful for anyone with dietary restrictions who need to avoid certain foods. Can’t say enough good things about it it!
