I have had a subscription for a little over 6 months and recently couldn’t see anything beyond headline and photo. I wrote to the main email address and had a personal reply explaining the source of recent problem (app update mistake, now fixed) with instructions to solve. I’ll renew just for this. And I love your art coverage!
This mobile app works very well but some improvements could be made. It would help the user to see the art images if they could click on them and zoom in using two fingers, like many other apps use for image content. One thing I noticed that does not work well is, if a user clicks on a category of article headlines to scroll through e.g. "Art Market," then goes back to the main page and tries selecting another category e.g. "Museums and Exhibitions," the app will redirect the user to the first category that they perused, and then not redirect the user to any category on the second attempt to access the new category. The issue is only solvable on user end by force closing the app. One other suggestion - for the digital newspaper section, I'm hesitant to tap the "get" button as I don't know what this entails, even though I would like to access additional content. Plainly, I'm concerned the app will do something funky. A little description at the top of that page as to what happens when you hit the "get" button would be appreciated. Comment functionality from other users would be cool, but I understand this isn't exactly the purpose of a magazine app. Given the state of the Internet, perhaps it's best not to employ this. Good work other than that - thank you and cheers!
The app works great as regards the content, and the content of The Art Newspaper is top notch. However, having to sign in every time one opens the app is not only onerous, it is incomprehensible in 2022. I have never encountered this issue even with much more minor apps. Please get this fixed.
