Before the app was updated, I used to be able to read news articles. Now when I open an article, the video at the top plays automatically. It always starts with an ad, and if I don’t want to watch the video, I have to wait for the ad to run before I have the option of stopping the video. I haven’t been able to find a way to disable autoplay. I like to keep up on the news, but this is a borderline dealbreaker. If this “feature” doesn’t change, I will likely find a new source for local news.

I used to LOVE this app. It keeps me in touch with my hometown. But then they updated it to make it look better. It looks better and it doesn’t work. I literally have to delete or offload the app every time I use it just to watch the news. It freezes all the time. It cuts off news casts when it does work. FIX IT already. You had a great thing. It’s lousy now. And forget using it like you used to on Apple TV too! New update and worse problems. Now as of October 27, 2024 strange audio bleeds happen. I can’t get through more than a minutes without audio bleeds from goodness knows what. These issues do not happen on any other app. A year ago or so I used this app constantly on my Apple TV and phone. It doesn’t matter how much I want to use it now- it does t work.

I know that weather forecasting is an inexact science; even so, KCRG is probably the least accurate I have ever seen. It’s amazing how they can manage to call for a winter storm warming, a winter storm watch, a winter weather advisory, and not so much as a single snowflake dropping anywhere within a 50 mile vicinity—all within the span of about 6 hours! Even for an inexact science, this first alert team is exceptionally incompetent. I would literally have better luck predicting a 12-hour forecast by sticking my hand out the window to see if it’s raining or not. This isn’t a one-time completely erroneous prediction that has caused this review; this has been happening for at least the last 4 or 5 winters. I’m sick and tired of relying on an app that has proven time and time again to be so utterly unreliable, so I’m deleting and looking for a better weather team.
