I love the concept and needs the app tries to meet. But the app itself is buggy and difficult to navigate. I am on the latest IOS version and use an iPhone 16e. The app gets into moments when it kicks me out everytime I’d enter the message center. Additionally, I am having a hard time understanding what the Broadcast page is there for. When I create a new listing, the Broadcast button is greyed out and I’m not able to continue on with listing. Instead, my oldest listing would be enabled to be broadcasted. And then when I shut down the app and reopen, I’m able to hit the Broadcast button for the new listing. Not sure if this is a bug or working as designed. One other notable thing is that, there are no timestamps on other users’ messages to you. It would help to know how long ago my message requests have been sitting my inbox. I say this because if you have the unpaid version of Roomster, you cannot view who has reached out to you. So when I paid, I responded to my inquiries, I never got a response back, and now I’m thinking it’s because I left the messages sitting in my inbox for too long but not knowing how long they were sitting in there for. I wish I didn’t pay the $30 for this experience. It’s not worth it.

I really like the idea of this app and most everything about it. I even found a roommate on it! My rating is solely about the usability. The app won’t let me upload photos of my apartment from my photo library, it will just glitch every time I select a photo and hit “done”, but it will let me take photos in the moment and upload those. Whenever I try to update my profile to reflect my roommate’s and my ages, it deletes the numbers, so it’ll appear as “I’m years old and my roommate is years old” I know there’s an area where you set your ‘household age’ but it would be helpful to be able to put it in your listing description too. It also only gives you the option to say that your property is available the day that you make the listing, so even if you list a month or two in advance, you can’t change it to say when it’s actually available, leading to messages from people who didn’t read the whole description. It also frequently freezes and is completely unusable until you exit the app and restart it. It would also be helpful to have an option where your listing is only visible to female or male users, because I do not want to have a man live with me, but I keep getting messages from ones who didn’t read my listing description. I will likely use this app again, but as a last resort when it comes to finding a roommate. Too many glitches.

This app was fine for me at first, I could actually log in and get messages from other people, communicate with them and also see that someone sent messages (for free), but not all of them. Things kept changing though; sometimes I could see messages, and sometimes not. The BIGGEST problem, however, is now I CAN’T EVEN SIGN IN! I used to use my e-Mail, as it was one of the options available. I never had to verify anything else (like my phone number) because I spoke with customer service, and they signed me in anyway. Now, the ONLY WAY TO SIGN IN is with PHONE NUMBER and I NEVER VERIFIED IT. Turns out, not only did they HAVE MY PHONE NUMBER, it is BLOCKED FROM THE WEBSITE. How did they even get it if I never gave it to them? When I spoke to customer service again, the guy over e-Mail said “delete your account and make a new one with that phone number”. Huh? That’s customer support? What about all my messages to and from other people? How do I know my phone number won’t get blocked again? There’s so much wrong with this, it is mind boggling. I can’t even write a review on their website, nor contact customer service because you have to have a signed-in-account (I could only reply to old e-mails customer service sent me because I can’t sign in). I’ll give it 2 stars, at least because when I could use it, everything was OK, but constant changes has turned this thing into utter crap
