My husband and I are picky eaters (husband even more so). We both work full time, so cooking and grocery shopping isn’t high on our priority list when we finally get off the clock. When we do cook, it’s overly processed foods or the same meals over and over. Needless to say, Green Chef has literally been a god send for us. I find myself looking forward to cooking now (I’ve hated it for most of my life!) They make it so easy and painless. Everything ships to you & instructions are easy to follow. Recipes are mindful of your time. Everything is pre-measured for you. Ingredients have been fresh for us & seems to be of good quality (I’ve heard horror stories with other brands). The only thing I don’t care for is that they preselect several of your meals each week, but you can choose which “type” of preselected meals (e.g. “quick & easy” recipes, “vegan”, “protein packed”, etc.). You can hand pick extra meals & add to your plan. Honestly, the preselected meals force us to try new recipes which has worked out well for us. We’ve made 4 recipes so far and each one was absolutely delicious and flavorful!! Best part is it has positively impacted our health in more ways than one. If you are worried about costs, it’s honestly comparable if not cheaper than grocery shopping anymore. We also consider all the time it saves us! You can skip meals & they offer discounts. It’s worth every penny for us! 10/10 recommend giving this a try!
I am far from being a cook. I have no idea how to use spices and last time I used a service like this, the bags just kept piling up and I was so overwhelmed I would end up throwing all the food out. I have made a descion I want to eat healthy and I chose Mediterranean and when I searched recipes Green Chef popped up. I thought I would give it one more try because I have no idea how to cook Mediterranean and I didn’t want to get discouraged and give up. I thought I woukd try Green Chef and see what this style of food would be like without sweating over recipes. And not only are the meals so simple to understand, I can skip weeks whenever I feel like it if I start to feel overwhelmed and I already have all of my ingredients right there! No searching for items in the store I will only use once but pay for sn e tire container, you know what I mean? And I can order from the whole menu every week and each week is entirely different!! I am just 3 meals in but every meal I have made has turned out absolutely amazing! They take care of all the seasonings all the ingredients minus salt and pepper. They give me step by step instructions down to how to slice my carrots or potatoes. And just when I think there’s no way that’s going to taste good, it’s delicious! I’m broadening my palate of tastes and it’s all so healthy! The ingredients are perfect, produce is ripe and I can keep up with the orders. I skipped a week cuz I was afraid I wouldn’t get through three bags in one week and I’m regretting it now!
Every single meal has been gourmet level quality and fully satisfying. I get to feel like a master chef AND savor these amazing dishes all while adhering to my low carb/keto diet. They make it easy to level up my diet and my cooking. I don't have to think about it... and I save the recipes for when I want to recreate the meals in the future. After much research, I started my meal plan journey with Hungry Root, but the meals were too repetitive, the flavors boring, and they offered no low carb options. Green Chef blows away the competition as well as my own home cooking. Bring on the dating game! I shall now slay with my kitchen prowess and health conscious lifestyle. My only reservation thus far is: I'd like to pause for more than 5 days and the minimums are large for small people. With intermittent fasting, the minimum is a lot for a single 120lb gal. And if I leave town...? Forget it! I'm having to scramble to give away food now so it doesn't go bad. A good problem but I prefer not to waste. A credit towards a holiday plan would be great if pausing beyond 5 days continues to not be an option. If I'm going to have to pay for it, I'd rather save it for hosting more than myself. Hope this is helpful.
